Games still official if someone winning after 5 or 4.5 innings, but games that get rained on before then would have the stats continued and picked up from the point the rain stopped the game instead of starting a brand new game.

True, but Stanton has been good as recently as 2 years ago and was a MVP 3 years ago. I don't think it should surprise anyone if he does well.

Staal has sucked stanky cheeks for half a decade. It would have been a major shock if he was even just "pretty bad" this year.
