we also dumped our pitching coach, and some of our strength & conditioning team. both were things fans were begging for all last season.

Nothing restricting International spending.

The draft picks are pretty much on point, the rest of it is a big pile of meh. They weren't going to strip them of their championship, but this won't really discourage teams from cheating in the future.

lol who cares about that, it's all about PR and how the public views you, silly. General public/twitterverse doesn't know what international spending is but does know what draft picks are, plus they're easily numbered in terms of value = good punishment!

Or they could just really actually cut into the Astros and castrated them.

This doesn't do that. It dings them a bit, but not significantly enough. Cora is going to get f***ed sideways, but that doesn't really matter.

It seems like a light punishment to me as an outside baseball fan

Although I will say, if cheating to win a title isn’t grounds for that title to be stripped, evidently nothing is

They were never stripping the title, this isn't the NCAA.

They didn't need to strip the title though, all they needed to do was make it very, very, very difficult for Houston to win another one in the near future.
