I think the Stros get hosed on that.

Take tucker out of the equation and thats probably the trade right there but then again, I don't really like Rosario at all.

I think Syndergaard and Correa are about even... actually probably prefer Syndergaard bc there’s always the hope he might be an ace. Correa just can’t stay healthy and when he is he’s just not the guy he should be.

Syndergaard hasn't exactly been the pillar of health either and hes coming off of a rather average season.

Even if you put those guys on equal footing, I prefer Tucker to Rosario, pretty significantly.

He hasn’t been an iron man, but Correa has been worse. Houston also has their pitching figured out down there. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a real rise in Noah when he’s not just reaching back and throwing 100.

I highly agree on your last point.

Im a yankee fan anyway so just speculating - likely incorrectly.

Not moving Noah and Rosario for that return. While Syndergaard isn't someone with stellar health, Correa having back issues is not something I'm going to bank on. Astros are trying to move him before he gets hurt again.

Rosario took huge strides this season, became someone who is average defensively (after his early season adjustments) and his bat was solid. Power is his next step, with plate discipline getting better. He just turned 24. Also has untapped stolen base potential.

I'd think the Astros opened up a spot for Tucker in moving out Marisnick. Probably takes over everyday in CF, moves Springer to RF and Reddick to a part time player. If Tucker isn't ready, keeps their OF the same as last season. Tucker is probably a no move for them. I could see them liking Nimmo if that kind of trade materialized.

I believe their target might be Matz in any trade, but I think the Mets are on the periphery on these trade discussions. Not the greatest match, as the Mets needs are bullpen help and offloading salary like Lowrie. Matz gives them a lefty look to go with Verlander and Greinke. Lost Cole and potentially Miley. They need someone to fill their #3 slot and they probably would help Matz get to that level, if he isn't a #3 as is. Hard to move the only lefty starter they have.

Astros should just sign Bumgarner or Ryu. Solves their issue. If they move Correa, another team with starter depth and maybe a 3rd base replacement (Bregman moves to SS) is it.

I thought he might be movable with the success Alvarez has had. I guess I’m overreaching anyway though.

If I were the Mets I’d def throw Syndergaards name out there. A lot of these pitching needy teams are going to lose out on this SP class so they might get a golden opportunity. Houston just seems like the team that would turn moderate success into an ace.

IMO Alvarez is a first baseman.

Kluber to the Rangers for Emmanual Chase and Delino DeSheilds (reported so far).
Garbage value. I hate the Tribe though, so I'm okay with it.

I have no idea why teams consistently trade for relief pitchers and overpay for them. Even the top analytics based teams are onto it.

According to the athletic, Yankees and Cubs discussed Schwarber's name.

Maybe if they move KBIB - they'll seek Andujar? On the other hand Epstein isn't dumb enough to have Andujar at 3rd for a season as well...

Wasn't Delino DeSheilds really highly touted as a prospect at one point? Or I am just incorrectly remembering it that way in my head b/c so many players from my youth's kids are (Tatis, Vlad Jr)?

He was. I remember the pre-draft hype. He looked like a sure top 10 pick and ended up going 8th.

It was surprising when the Astroe didn't protect him from rule 5 draft. Probably the biggest name on there this decade IMO.

OK...Mets get Porcello and Wacha to possibly replace Wheeler..great...I can live with that as the SP should be fine.

What about the bullpen tho? Any of my Met brothers in here who have read or heard they are looking to acquire, I'd love to hear it. I mean that's the biggest issue we have heading into the season. Sure we hope Diaz and Familia get their shit together but we need an influx of BP arms.

Anyone know who we are looking to bring in and who even is available?

I think they should be investing in Betances unless there are concerns with his medicals.

Bentances would be awesome. Is it realistic tho? We all know how gun shy the Wilpons are now that Cespedes blew up in our faces after giving him that monster contract and tho as much as I'd love bringing him here, the Mets taking a gamble on Betances even if he got a clean bill of health seems unlikely...just sayin!
