This must have been a pretty significant tendency uncovered via some pretty in-depth pre-scouting by the Astros, they were ready for it. Or maybe their keen video guy picked it up on the fly...

Or if you’re a conspiracy theorist they systematically stole signs using equipment and relays just like they put pine tar on the baseball to spin it more...

You know the Yankees will be watching their starters deliveries closely now.

Houston does have a reputation of stealing signs and whatnot, yes.

But I think this was more on Glasnow.

Have you seen Tanaka's home vs away splits?
Yes, but his playoff pedigree becomes much greater. Sort of (NOT saying the same), El Duque was. That guy would virtually live in Tampa until the playoffs then come on and be lights out. Tanaka is not as lazy, but he basically grows a foot taller in the post season. Hands down, one of the best starting pitcher signing over the last 30 years. He is a gamer. Clements aside, he is right up there with Wells and Mussina.

All that said, no doubt about it, game 1 is a must. With Verlander & Cole staring at you, the 'yanks need to approach game 1 as if it was game 7.

Glad to see Hicks on the roster, I think he can do damage batting left vs RH heavy Astros pitching...

Edit: Of course it is ideal that he is not needed with our OFers hitting well.

Now that Beltran is with the Yankees, can he give us tips on tipping pitches like he did for the Astros back in 2017?

You can def tell the balls are unjuiced b/c that Judge bomb is easily a homer in the regular season.

This is gonna be a pitcher's duel until like...the 8th inning when one of the teams break it wide open in two batters, and then it returns to a duel for the rest of the game.
