"Nimmo should be in there everyday at this point. No reason to see Lagares except for a really tough lefty and to spell him for a game.
Can alternate Panik and Frazier, but Panik has been the better player, in spite of Frazier's explosion in Philly.
My real concern is when Cano comes back. What are they planning on doing? Panik has been hitting .280 since joining. Cano won't be able to go everyday, but wouldn't it be better to just use him off the bench for now and give him some more time to heal?
Video and data from the Mets’ upgraded analytics department under assistant GM Adam Guttridge contributed to Rosario’s revival as well. DiSarcina credits Mets analyst Jared Faust, a 23-year-old graduate of Penn who previously worked for the Indians and Yankees, with recommending some of the same adjustments the Yankees made last season with third baseman Miguel Andújar.
Rather than view the Mets’ suggestions as criticism, Rosario responded the way competitive athletes often do, accepting the challenge and getting to work. He began performing basic drills in the batting cage, the kinds of things players practice in Instructional League, DiSarcina said. The Mets, meanwhile, began tracking how often Rosario was on time in his pre-pitch setup.
In truth, his improvement at shortstop began even before the Mets staged their intervention. Rosario was minus-13 in defensive runs saved (DRS) entering May 19. He is still minus-13, meaning that he has played to a league-average level over the last three-plus months.
For all of the work the Mets did with Rosario behind the scenes, his defensive turnaround only happened because he embraced the team’s plan.
“I’m eager to learn and do as much as possible,” Rosario said. “It has helped me, 100 percent.”
Instant classic
Nice read in The Athletic from Ken Rosenthal regarding Rosario's improved defense:
And I believe @nyr2k2 has been looking for this too:
So, for the last three months, Rosario has been a league average SS defensively. So beyond the first 2 months of the season, which were historically bad, he's much improved. Someone who was like this was Marcus Semien. The change for Semien was recently, when he was 26/27. Fortunately, Rosario is 23. Hopefully his advances at the plate and in the field get him back onto his trend to being one of the better SS in baseball.
Problem is with Gimenez and Mauricio on the way up I have to think Rosario’s days at SS are limited to maybe 2021 at the latest. Those two guys I’m not sure if they’ll hit at the ML level but for defensive benefit when one or both are ready Rosario is probably moving to center field
we have no choice. It's either him or EE and I'd rather have Voit.Voit is a DH. I want him nowhere near the field in the postseason. The problem is that the Yankees have a bunch of DHs.

Juan Soto is like 12 years old and already an extremely good baseballman
