They’re also going to have a ton of bodies next year and I have no idea where everyone’s gonna play.

C: Ramos
1B: Alonso
2B: Cano
3B: McNeil
SS: Rosario
LF: Cespedes
CF: Nimmo
RF: Conforto

That lineup doesn’t even include Lowrie, Smith, and Davis. I think that lineup gives them the best combo of offense and defense with the set guys on the roster. Obviously you’d want to get Davis’ bat in the lineup but I don’t see how he plays without putting Conforto in center. And they’re gonna have to decide what to do with Dom too in terms of playing time or dealing him.

If you'd ask me, I think Brodie will go shopping for a CF this offseason. Nimmo is nice, but this team really needs someone that can go get it and contribute on offense. Most good teams have that multi faceted CF that gives them more than just a bat or just a glove. Makes me wonder if McNeil can do it. He's killed it on the corners and having him there would allow Davis to play 3rd. Could become somewhat of a LH version of Whit Merrifield.

While Dom has been a nice player for the Mets, he's not an OF and we'd be wasting him as a bat off the bench. I think he's traded as a piece to get that CF if McNeil is viewed as a corner OF/2nd/3rd. Not to mention, this could get Cano some backup 1st base time on days Alonso needs a rest. Lots of flexibility with the roster.

There is going to be a lot of ways to go here, but for the first time I can remember the roster has multiple everyday lineup pieces that may be on the bench. Now if there is some way we can prevent the bullpen from having 2 months where it implodes, this could be a playoff team.

Ya know that Ramos guy is pretty good at hitting them baseballs.

I hope I'm wrong but I gotta feeling Mets not taking lead there after Ramos tied the game and Mets having bases loaded and one out is going to come back and bite them bad and probably cost them the game.

I truly hope I'm very wrong about this but I doubt it.

Well that was an awfully clutch bases loaded 2 run hit there for Rosario.

I'm actually getting nervous that I might end up being wrong and that the 7th inning stranding of runners might not cost the Mets after all....hmmmm.

Let's get some more runs as a 2 run lead in that bandbox isn't too comfy...I'm talking to you Tod father

Holy shit...the Todfather comes thru afterall....wow. Mets being clutch again.

Well if they can win 2 of 3 here in Philly which they should do if they hold on to this 6-1 lead having gotten Nola out of the way, with Vargas on tap, and another Phillie stiff SP, who knows...mabye we can pull of a sweep and get some good juju again and at least pass the Phillies in the WC hunt.

I want them to win both Phillies series just to ruin their season as well. Ever since 07-08, the Phillies have been my number 1 hated team. There’s always cycles with who the Mets biggest rivals tend to be (Phillies that time period, Braves around 2000, Nationals more recently) but I’ll always hate Philly the most.

Matz grinding out an at bat against Vargas is peak National League.

Yeah I'd have to agree with ya about the Phillies being the most hated of all Met opponents.

When it comes to the Braves to me it's more aggravation that we simply can't beat them no matter the decade, than anything. Probably this acceptance of that fact lowers the hate meter for that team. And they don't have Chipper Jones anymore which for anyone old enough to remember him, he might be THE biggest Met killer in history. But for most part Braves or their quiet as a mouse fanbase are just who they are.

Phillies on the other hand are eminently hateable. What makes it worse for me is when I got remarried, I moved down here near Philly and so I'm surrounded by everything Philly whether it's the Phllies, 76ers, Eagles and Flyers. The fanbase other than a couple of close friends of mine who are cool Philly fans are as obnoxious as any in baseball. They are knowledgable...I'll give them that but man are they f***ing annoying to be around.

And like you said as well, that choke from being 7 games up with 17 days left go still stings to this day. And I happened to move here where I live in Doylestown right around the summer of '07, so I had to deal with all the BS and verbal abuse from my friends who mostly were Phillie fans. It was the worst time to be a Met fan in my life that fall of '07. The fall of '08 wasn't much better but my hatred was vented more at the Mets for somehow letting the absolute piece of garbage Marlins beat us pretty much every game from the summer to the fall...it was embarrassing.

Overall tho I'm with you bud...the Phillies are tops on the hate scale for me as well.

Ramos has been on a tear this month. That .455 batting average is insane. He still needs his rest to be productive.

Nimmo coming back tomorrow is at the perfect time. The Lagares bubble is bursting and we could use that left handed bat out there. Lineup becomes very deep.

Was that Citi Field or Citizens Bank where the game was played?

If I had been listening on the radio and didn't know the score and had tuned in bottom of the 9th inning, I would have sworn that was Citi Field it was so loud with Lets Go Mets chants and cheering for Lugo strikeouts.

Gotta be embarrassing if your a Phillie fan for Met fans taking over your stadium the past two nights. OK...got the first two game now we got to go for the kill and pull off the sweep. That would kill two birds with one stone as we would move ahead of the Phillies again after being 2.5 behind them before the series and if the Cubs can lose again, we could be just 3 games back.

Bottom line is there was no way Mets were going to go 21-8 after that disappointing sweep by the Cubs but if we can at least get some help from the Cubs and maybe the Cards as well and have them go on a few losing streaks of their own, maybe just maybe this magical 2nd half could have a happy ending afterall.

First things first...finish off the Phillies and sweep the f***ers.

reds & cards played a double header today and have another double header tomorrow...don't see that very often. RIP their bullpens

Would have bet anything that Matz would homer on Vargas. Just seemed the inevitable thing to do. Junk throwers like that (meaning no 90+) is conducive to opposing pitchers hitting. Throws off the everyday players though......sometimes.
Was screaming at Lagares'hitting disabilities and swore that Matz would make Juanito look stupid.
