Cespedes - $29M
Cano - $19M
Wright - $15M
Lagares - $9M
Lowrie - $8.5M
Familia - $6.6M
Vargas - $6M
d'Arnaud - $3.5M
----------------------
$96.6M

In other words, Mets pay a **** ton of money to guys who either haven't played at all this season, are absolutely terrible or are no longer with the team.
Not that this isn't bad, but insurance is paying Wright's contract and maybe Cespedes too?

I was going to post exactly what Crease did. Insurance covers a ton of it of which the Wilpons have literally said they will not reinvest in the team which manages to keep it as a sunk cost lmfao.

Torres doesnt drop that throw they are out of the inning 4 runs ago.Now all tied up.Yuck.Frazier also cant overthrow the cutoff on that offline throw home-allowing the tying run to reach 2nd base. This kid cant play the field,at all.

Pete why lmfao

I was so afraid that that play by Pete was going to end up costing the Mets...I really did. But we held on to win a pretty big game. Either this is the slowest death for a team on record or maybe we still have one final push left in us.

You have to think at the very least to even have an iota of a shot to get the WC, with 18 games left, we'd have to be no worse than 2 games out by the time we play those 4 vs Miami and the 3 vs the Braves to end the season. We gotta hope the Brewers,Phillies, DBacks and Cubs continue to play around .500 ball while we go something like 13-5...14-4 something along those lines.

As of right this second Fangraphs has the odds at this and it don't look pretty:

Cubs-65.7
Brewers-27.6
Mets-10.5
DBacks-4.9
Phillies-3.6

I wouldn’t be so sure the Nats are uncatchable with their schedule. The Mets need to hope the Cards cool off a bit so that the division is still in reach when the Cubs play them 7 games late. I’m not sure how Atlanta will handle that series late in New York. If it matters for the Mets the Braves find themselves in that awkward position of if we let them in and 2 weeks from now they beat us in the LCS we’ll never live it down
