Amazing win by the Yankees last night but they aren't winning a title with that pitching. The starters aren't going deep enough into games and now the bullpen looks tired and lackluster. Not a recipe for success.

Didi was the highlight

but I want to laud Luke Voit for drawing possibly the most gruelingly patient walk I've seen in some time.

Was at the Mets game last night with a few friends and when Cano came up for his first AB, we basically all ripped into him. Of course he hits 3 bombs and has his best game of his season.

That 80% off promotion sure worked. There were quite a few people at the park last night. 300s behind the plate and down the lines were pretty much full.

I'll say this, if that pitch was called a strike, there should be no complaints because it was on the knees and black. His takes on 1-2 and 2-2 were insane though. Both pitches were in the zone for about 75% of the way up to the plate and fell off at the last possible second.

The Tauchman at-bat to get to Hicks in the 9th was impressive too, kept waiting for him to chase, and he never did.

What a game. Game of the regular season so far. There were so many good games last night.

Twins are legit. Jorge Polanco is one of my favorite players to watch in MLB.

Also lol @ Paddack being afraid of Polar Bear after talking shit. Cano with his first 3 HR Game.

I am sick and tired at how awful Chapman is.
I mean he is having a bad July. Other than that he has been damn good.

ERA by month:

April/March: 2.38
May: 0.79
June: 0.87
July: 9.53

He has appeared in 11-12 games per month up until July. He is at 6 appearances in July with 7 days left.

Like Britton, he is a guy who needs a consistent workload. He loses his rhythm when he sits too long.

I know there is a frustration these past two weeks with him but he has by no means been awful.

His velocity is down significantly and his command isn't good enough to compensate. If he opts out after this year, I would probably let him walk.

Exactly. The only way he's effective is if he's throwing 102 or 103. For a guy who throws as hard as he does, his ball does not move an awful lot, and MLB hitters can catch up to a 100 MPH fastball if it's straight.

I used my free tickets from the survey and I think a lot of people did as well.

Dontcha know Cano is hitting .348 at citifield this season? Problem is he has twice as many at bats on the road where he's hitting .207.

He seems clutch with a .308 avg with 2 outs and RISP yet he has a .393 average with a score differential of 5+ and less than 240 in all other situations. Hard to tell what he is but there is some good buried in all the crap.

Okay so we are just going to disregard all of his numbers then that have shown success? His velocity has been down to what? 98-99? He has hit 100+ multiple times. Its a long season. His other pitches have made up for any ticks lost in velocity.

He was sitting in the 95-96 range last night. I really doubt that he can be consistently effective there.

Sorry, I didnt realize I had to specify. I meant over the course the season. Not a sample size of one night...
I know what you meant. Over the course of this season his velocity has been down from what it's been in the past and he hasn't looked as dominant. He has a lot of miles on his arm and it's quite possible that his decline has begun.

Stroman isn't appreciably better than what we already have.
Really? Because his HR/9 would be best on the staff. His H/9 would be 0.1 behind Tanaka. FIP would be best on the staff. And he would have the most innings logged. Runs Allowed/9 would also be best on the staff. WAR would be the best.

Too lazy to look up GB to FB ratio and %’s but im sure thats up there too.

I dont know, seems like he would be our best starter.

Agreed.

In a perfect world, I would want him and a more truer ace type like MadBum/Thor.
