If I had a deal from the Brewers that I felt was an 8/10 in terms of return, and a deal from the Yankees that was an 8/10, I'll take the Brewers' package every ****ing day. If I'm going to help my crosstown rival win a trophy, I need to get a premium on my return.

If the Yankees offer me more than the Brewers, I will take the Yankees' offer (assuming it's a notable amount more--if it's just an extra throw-in, **** it). You do what's best for the team. Again though...all things being equal, I will take a non-Yankees offer over a Yankees offer. And although it's been really rare that the Mets would be buying and the Yankees would be selling, I would expect Yankees fans to prefer an equal offer from the Brewers to one from the Mets.
But trading to the Brewers hurts the Mets more since they play more games against them and complete in the same league for playoff positions.

I think its a real solid job by Cashman to improve the rotation without giving up really anything from the farm system.

Drury has been replaced at the MLB level and doesn't deserve to play over Torreyes as the utility bench player. I like McKinney and hope he still has a MLB career in front of him. However, there is no path for him to get to the majors as a Yankee, and there are plenty of candidates to fill the path should one open.

I'm happy to add Happ. He has shown an ability to play in the AL East.

Thank you for the insight. As warned, I don't want to open "Pandoras Box". But this is the kind of response I was looking for.

If I'm the Mets, I suck, and I'm selling a rental, do I care? If it's Syndergaard or something, sure, but that's not often something that happens. Also we play the Yankees 6 times each year, and other NL teams between 6-10 times. So it's not even much difference there. Maybe four games at most. You may run into a risk where you move a guy to Milwaukee and a couple years later you're fighting for the same WC spot with the guy you traded still being a force, but I'd say that's unlikely.

Fair point but you never know. Yankees traded Andrew Miller and then played him in a big playoff series the next year. It would've been better if they moved him to the dodgers or anothe NL team.

Me personally, I couldn't live with it if we traded a guy across town and he won three championships. Yankees fans would hold that over Mets fans forever. I could live with that guy maybe preventing us from winning the WC one year. Much easier to stomach.

In the words of Uncle Phil: "when are we gonna stop doing this to each other?"

I don’t think most of us care about the Mets that much.

Yeah because they never win anything. If you traded some dude to the Mets and he led them to mutliple titles you might feel differently. I think a lot of you don't care because you've never been there. JMO.

Also, the amount of trash Yankees fans talk, they obviously care something. Or else they're just dicks.

I think a lot of us on here don't see the Mets that way but there's plenty of dick Yankees fans among the masses who have nothing better to do.
