This Heyman guy saying it’s doubtful the Mets would trade Wheeler to the Yanks.

WHEELER. Not deGrom, not Syndergaard. f***ing WHEELER.

What a pathetic franchise.

Seconded. We are not even in the NL East with them. Put the stubborness aside and help your franchise by dealing with an organization that has a deep system.

Screw it just go for Ervin Santana instead

Happ doesn’t really do it for me, but it’s better than nothing; and if Drury is the main piece going back, all the more reason to do it.

Pathetic ownership. That's where it comes from.

Either way, the teams have consummated like 17 or whatever trades in 56 years, and none of real consequence. Neither team has ever been in a great hurry to make a substantial trade with the other.

Definitely helps the rotation.

Sevvy
Tanaka
Happ
CC
Gray

Get one more guy to replace Gray and it’s actually good.

I hope Gray has another good outing tonight. I am pulling for him. I dont like the arms that are out there unless deGrom becomes available

Me too, I’d actually consider myself a Gray apologist, but every time he looks like he’s coming around, he shits the bed again.

Maybe the pressure to keep his spot will help him up his game. Hope so. Dude can still be a good pitcher, it’s mental with him at this point IMO.

Drury and McKinney? Yeah, I’m more than good with that.
I hate it. Years of control on Drury who i think is a solid player plus Mckinney who is insurance in the OF, especially if Gardner isnt brought back, Frazier gets dealt, and Florial not ready.

Dont like it for a rental

i like Drury, but he’s totally and completely replaceable.

Not to mention he’s beat the f*** up.

Yeah, of-f***ing-course the Mets will deal a guy somewhere else other than to the Yankees. Can we all stop acting like it's some great surprise? The Mets have terrible, petty owners who would literally rather off themselves than do anything to help the Yankees. This has been established. Can we come to terms with it? Yankees fans, you can't have our players because our owners are petty shitbags.

Now, with that out of the way... Even if the Mets were good, and respectable again, they'd probably accept an 8/10 deal from some random team before a 9/10 deal from the Yankees. As division or intra-city rivals would. It's stupid purely from a baseball perspective but somewhat logical from a marketing and narrative perspective. Also, don't assume that your deal is better just because. Cashman is showing restraint so it's entirely possible his interest in someone like Wheeler, who is mediocre, is only exploratory.

I still have the right to crap on them for it.
