Not a fan of Gray, but I'd like something with Darvish if he's guaranteed to sign here (he won't).

Still, I think Quintana would've been better than both. C'est le vie.

Rosario returned to the lineup last night btw after missing a week with that bruise. 2 RBIs.

I know people will say "its not that simple" but it really is that simple...

The Yankees can not find a spot for everyone of their good prospects, they're too deep, it doesn't matter if its 2 to 3 years from now, guys are still going to be blocked. Look at the major league roster. C - blocked, SS - blocked, LF - blocked, RF - blocked, CL- blocked, 2B - possibly blocked, CF - possibly blocked (has hicks figured it out?).

The Yankees are going to trade prospects people like simply because they're not ready for the majors right now and because they are blocked by others more talented and/or already on the major league team contributing.

Multiple sources indicated Tuesday that the Yankees were making progress toward a deal with Oakland, which could send not only Gray -- who was slated to start for the A's on Tuesday in Toronto -- but also first baseman Yonder Alonso to New York.

though a source with knowledge of the Yanks' thinking said that top prospects Gleyber Torres, Frazier, Chance Adams and Justus Sheffield are close to untouchable in general manager Brian Cashman's eyes.

Well if his point was that the conditions have a more drastic affect on GB vs FB I think he'd actually be right. The sunbaked infield will play much faster than most, if not all of the ones in the majors.

The warm air+elevation will for sure make it easier to hit balls that travel further though. Plus that isn't even taking into consideration all of the other parks in the PCL that are really easy to hit in.

This is pretty close to what I remember it as. Obviously the air helps for power production, but the dimensions of the park work against it, so its not really so much a HR hitting park, more of a hitting park for average.

Smith hitting 15 HR's in 100 games doesn't mean he'll only hit 5 in the big leagues because people assume Vegas numbers are never real. HR numbers in Vegas are much realer than average numbers.

Sources: Yankees making progress with A's on potential Gray/Alonso trade

Gotta be Asdrubal

Yeah, he supposedly has the most value of the infielders, which makes absolutely no sense, but I won't argue if teams want him. Duda might also be traded. Walker could've been a trade candidate, if he wasn't injured. Reed will get traded, as well, but thats unrelated to Amed. If we could trade Cabrera, Duda and Reed, that would be a good trade deadline.

I don't think they'd trade anyone who's not in the final year of their contract. We aren't rebuilding.

And I still am not letting these guys off the hook now that he'll be called up soon. We are now out of playoff contention, they gotta answer for that. Rosario isn't all of it, but they deliberately fielded a worse team for months.

The Dodgers manager claimed Bellinger saved their season, Mets said that they were too worried Rosario would be looked at as a savior. :help:

Even if the reason was actually what had been reported that Cabrera was a problem in the locker room and would create problems with Amed, they still could've cut Cabrera who's a worthless player, anyway.

only the Yankees can score on a triple play.. bases loaded nobody out and they get 1 run on the triple play lol.

It's happened around 20 times in history so it's about as rare as a perfect game. Todd Frazier makes history in his Yankee stadium debut!

Injuries left and right, and he wouldn't have been in a position to succeed. Hopefully this next wave of kids gives the team a kick in the ass

The Dodgers managed claimed Bellinger saved the season. Must have absolutely nothing to do with the fact that they lead the league in ERA by 0.34 points and have 9 other hitters with over 100 PA and wRC+ over 100. Bellinger saved nothing. He made a great team better.

Rosario seemed hot and cold in AAA, and Vegas stats are unreliable.

Will be exciting to see him called up, though. Trade deadline will be interesting.

Gray getting smacked around in Toronto.

Looks like he pitched pretty well, actually.. he gave up 5 hits and got 9 Ks in 6 innings. Blue Jays got 4 runs off of him but all were unearned runs. Granted, one of the errors that led to an unearned run was Gray's  But a solid outing, all in all.

I think we might see Florial, Mateo + for Gray and Alonso today.. not sure how I feel about it. But given the Yankees outfield depth, I can see their reasoning behind it.

Ugh, I would hate that potential trade A LOT more than the Rutherford one.
