What an inning! What a win!

Heartbeat clocked in at 140.

Today has not been good for my health, but I'm happy.

Girardi is still dumb as hell.

Chapman doesn't get used for a week, any surprise he barely had any command tonight?

However, to add, the home plate umpire's strike zone was ****ing **tarded.

He may have been safe but never overturning that.

He was clearly out.

I know the old baseball adage is never make the 1st or 3rd out at 3rd, but that was pretty dumb by nunez. Hicks' throw wasnt even good and they still nabbed him.

He's basically been their entire offense for 11 games so I'm sure he'll be forgiven.

It wasn't just command. He was missing everything. I thought both fly outs in the 9th were actually home runs off the bat and Kay certainly made it sound like Benintendi's ball was gone the way he called it off the bat.

I really don't hate that move by Nunez. As bad as Chapman looked he's still insanely hard to get a hit off. Nunez has to be thinking there if I get to 3rd much better chance we tie this than Ramirez or Young actually get a hit.

Chapman has been having trouble walking batters all year. This just isn't a rust issue.

Not really, that was Betances's issue.

Chapman had only walked 12 batters in 30 innings prior to tonight's game (while maybe not great, it's not awful either). If anything, it's giving up hits that's been the issue for Chapman this season. Also had gone like 7 straight games without walk before tonight.

12 batters in 30 innings is a lot.Especially for a reliever. That's not even including the numerous other batters he has fallen behind in the count to.

Fair enough.

Regardless, I think Chapman will regain his form starting next season. Between Maddon burning him out last playoffs, and the injury to start the year, we're not seeing the Chapman we're used to seeing on a consistent basis.

That being said, prior to tonight, Chapman had looked much better recently. Girardi can't go a week without putting him into a game again, though.

Chapman had no clue where the ball was going last night. Betances should have been warming up in the pen after that first walk.

The Girardi takes.

You guys don't realize you have one of the best managers in baseball. It's just like AV. It's basically impossible to be a coach/manager in sports without the fans *****ing at every move they make. Myself included.

Opening day for the Mets in 2018 leaked today through the Cardinals who had parts of their schedule released for 2018. Thursday 3/29. That sort of sucks as it falls one day before Good Friday. That's one of those days where if you call in sick it looks like you're trying to extend your weekend.

I've liked Girardi in the past, but he hasn't really been that good this season. Just seems like he has 0 feel for the game this year for a big part of it.

Just becasue Terry Collins sucks doesn't mean Joe Girardi has done a good job this season. I don't really place blame on him for last night though. Chapman had do throw eventually.

Tanaka was placed on the DL today with right shoulder inflammation. That is less than good.

You bash every manager and GM of the team you root for. Typical fan smarter than management ********.

I think you have me confused with someone else

I think AV is ****ing horrible and I think Girardi has done a horrible job this season. I've had zero issues with Joe Girardi prior to this year.

I don't think either Gorton or Cashman are bad either. I actually think JG has done a great job with what he inherited.

Now I do think that the Ownership/business side of the Yankees front office is filled with a bunch of morons.

There are still a bunch of crazies in there from the original George regime who I think operate at 1,000 mph and trying to rule the world. I'm sort of surprised Hank and Hal haven't fired most of them by this point.

Considering all the key injuries the Yankees have been dealing with most of the season,i think Girardi has done a very good job.Sure he makes a move here or there that has us all scratching our heads, but what manager doesnt? (and dont answer a good 1 either, because Girardi is 1 of the better managers in baseball)

Pretty disgusted to see how out of shape Dom Smith is...This will be a major problem if he doesnt get his act together

Congrats to Rosario on his first HR

Man I'm excited for the Mets next season..

Roll out a lineup of..

Amed Rosario (SS)
Brandon Nimmo (OF)
Michael Conforto (OF)
Yoenis Cespedes (OF)
Wilmer Flores (2B/3B)
Dominic Smith (1B)
Jose Reyes (IF)
Travis D'arnaud (C)

Jacob deGrom
Noah Syndergaard
Matt Harvey
Zack Wheeler
Steven Matz

Not expecting much from the SP besides deGrom and Noah. But the offense and defense is pretty damn impressive. Just has tons of athleticism and speed.

If that's the team that would mean they did nothing about getting an extra outfield bat or replacing darnaud. They'd have a payroll of like 85 million

Why is that lineup better than what we had this year? Because it has more homegrown players?

I've said it before, for me 2 guys have spots assured in the rotation. Degrom and Syndergaard. Sign or trade for a #3. All of our other injury prone/unproven "aces" get to battle it out for 2 spots, not even assured a major league spot if they fail. I've had enough of Harvey, Matz and Wheeler. They need to prove they can stay healthy and prove they are even ML quality when they are.

Reyes does not belong in the lineup. He might not even belong on an MLB roster anymore, but I'd be willing to bring him back as a back up MI due to his speed and that he's good in the locker room. TJ Rivera should start in his spot. If Wright is actually retired, bring Walker back and it can be a 4 for 3 situation at those 3 infield spots., rotate them around, there's enough AB's there, as long as Reyes doesn't take any of those AB's. I'd be willing to trade Smith and bring Duda back, but if they decide otherwise, Smith at 1B will work.

Can't have D'Arnaud back with Rivera as his back up. Can bring in someone to compete with D'Arnaud, but he can't go into season as any more than a platoon, given how poorly he's played in recent seasons. I'd like to bring in a CF, but if you can't find anyone that good, I'm fine with a Lagares/Nimmo platoon in CF. That might not be a good offensive platoon, but they'll be worth some runs with more of an athletic approach with defense, base running and more batting average than someone like Granderson or Bruce gives the team.

I'm willing to bring in another starter, but not someone who's not a clear upgrade on what we have. Bring in Ohtani or someone like that, don't bother with a #4 or 5 starter, they aren't better than what we have.

Team is underperforming massively relative to their Pythagorean WL. That's on the manager.
