I'm a Met fan and really not a Yankee hater. What Judge is doing is great for baseball. I teach 6th grade in an urban environment. For years never heard the kids talk about baseball, of course they are all Golden State Warriors fans lol. Anyway, during the summer school program I teach, I saw kids wearing Judge t shirts, and saying how he is their favorite player. It was refreshing to see, especially because he seems like a great guy.

Cabrera shouldn't have even been a starter this season. His play doesn't match what you'd expect of a starter. He's been playing the last two seasons off of reputation. Get rid of him, even if it we get nothing back. I'll take the roster spot.

Cabrera was good all year last year, and awesome for about a month. He outperformed all expectations and if was performing half as good this year he'd get a really nice return at the deadline.

Cabrera is among the very worst defensive SS's in the majors. He hurts our defense so much at SS, so he needs to be a middle of the lineup bat at SS to be worthy of any halfway decent reputation.

The Mets complain about the pitching, they were saying that we couldn't worry about adding hitters to the lineup because the pitching wasn't good. Part of why the pitching isn't good is because their two SS's are pretty much the two worst defensive SS's in the majors. The problem at SS wasn't just Cabrera, it was also Reyes, who is equally bad. They've had an MLB ready GG caliber SS sitting in AAA, but they preferred to punt the season. There is not a good infield defender on the team, they've had corner OF's playing CF because they didn't bother getting a CF'er, the LF'er is lazy, no wonder our pitching sucks. We have below average fielding at every position.

One at bat in which a pop up went out 325 feet and that means he is throwing meatball sliders? LOL what?

Just plain silly.

The next hitter Longoria hit one out that just went foul. He's a good pitcher that didn't have his best stuff today. You are just trying to be argumentative.

Oh I guess defense isn't included in WAR now? Cabrera sucks defensively. He was hugely above average as a hitter for a SS last year which overall adds up to an above average player. This year he's (still) horrible defensively but hasn't hit quite as well so he hasn't been as valuable (but he's still been way way above average offensively for a SS). To argue he shouldn't have even had a starting job after having the 7th best WAR as a SS last year and 3rd best wRC+ is an absurd statement to take. And it's not like last year was a fluke he had a 2.2 WAR season the year before that (7th among SS - again) and a 104 wRC+ (3rd among SS that year).

I assume you are now going to tell me that WAR doesn't matter and wRC+ is a bad stat and you've watched him play and know that he's bad and they should have had Rosario up to start the season instead so this will be the last comment I make as there is no point in discussing any further with that level of ignorance. Saying he didn't deserve to start this year could be your all time worst take.

In Sonny Gray trade talks between #Yankees and #Athletics, Oakland believed to prefer Florial over Frazier because of defense in CF. @MLB

Florial seems to be the guy the A's want most, the question is what else do they want with him?

That's fine depending on what the + is.

So who is ready to overpay for Gray only to watch him get hurt by his 3rd start with the Yankees?

Oakland spin on that tweet is so ****ing heavy though lol.

As I've been saying I'm fine with whatever Cash decides to do, whether its gray, lynn, etc. I trust him.

Tanaka clearly still has the talent in there to be a force on the mound and Severino has been the ace all year.

A rotation of Servino, Gray, Tanka, Montgomery is pretty decent. Sign Darvish in the off-season and, baring injuries, one of the better starting 5.

Sources: Sonny Gray trade talks have been heaviest with #Yankees over last 48 hours. @MLB @MLBNetwork

Zach Littell is a healthy scratch from his AA start for #Yankees. Maybe it's nothing -- but I bet it's something
