Indeed. Injury marred season. Back injury. BA had him ranked #6 among college prospects in early January. Was hoping to watch some of him this past season, but that injury ruined that plan.

Promising freshman year in 2016. Excited to see what he brings next year as a junior...

It's still nothing like last year. The only serious pieces currently injured are Syndergaard and Familia. I don't really consider Walker, Cabrera (who will only be out 2 weeks anyway at most) Lagares or Harvey the way he was pitching to be catastrophic loses and the other ones like Milone Goeddel and Smoker are also minor. The main reason this team has sucked has been the bullpen at the end of the day

I think we have seven injured right now, Syndergaard, Familia, Harvey, Cabrera, Walker, Lagares and Wright.

And Conforto's kind of injured, but not on the DL. I don't think he's played in a bunch of games. Cespedes is playing injured.

I think they'll probably just bring up Nimmo to replace Lagares, but Lagares was having a good season, I think he should've been playing over Granderson, this was reminiscent of his 2014 season where he was one of the best OF's in the majors. If Lagares can even give us average offense, which he was this season, he's one of the best OF's in the majors because there isn't a CF who plays better defense than Lagares. His defense is so valuable, and the Mets don't seem to realize it. They'd rather let Granderson play awful defense in center, strike out nearly every AB, hit .220, and hit the occasional HR. Funny thing is that Lagares actually had a higher OPS this season than Granderson.

Carter needs to go in the worst way. He is a horror show and now cost them a game on this road trip in Anaheim.

Tyler Austin needs to be promoted soon even if his hitting isnt up to speed because it cannot be worst than what we are experiencing right now.

Losing Bird is killing us.

Other than that this is just a rough patch for us. I still have confidence in Clippard and once Chapman comes back the bullpen will be in order again.

How quickly we forget about David Wright. Not that anyone expected him to play this year but he's the only real 3B on the team and Lagares is the only real CF. Walker and Cabrera, whether you like them or not, are your starting middle infield and is almost certainly now the worst defensively in the league.

What Cody Bellinger is doing out in LA at age 21 is pretty insane. I feel like we don't hear as much about him since he's on the West Coast. Most homers in baseball since he debuted. The average is "only" in the .250s but considering he's 21, the OPS near 1.000 is crazy.

We are watching an historic season. A.L. Rookie of the Year? It's a race for second. Berrios and Benintendi can go it at right there. A.L. MVP? He benefits from Trout's injury, a high WAR and a first place team.
