Diaz came in to close and was tossed for sticky stuff before he threw a pitch.

The timing sure is suspicious. Diaz had been struggling and just recently came back with 3-4 mph gains and his command. Maybe Nido tipped off the umps.

In any event, why couldn’t the umps just instruct Diaz to wash it off like they seemingly do for all other teams.
