He's old so you knew he wasn't going to produce through the entire contract or even most of it

but that he might not even give us a year is just........

5.2 innings of scoreless ball by the pen today.

- Kahnle's changeup has bee kryptonite to lefties.
- Only negative thing about Ottavino is sometimes harnessing his filth.
- Britton's sinker the last couple of weeks has just been sick. Extremely late movement on it at 95+.
- Good to see Chapman can survive even after losing a couple of ticks on his fastball.
-It's only been one appearance but Green missed bats on his fastball for the first time all year after he was recalled.
- When the hell is Betances due back?

Betances had a setback.

When Britton gets that late sink he's near unhittable. One of the best RPs in the game couple years back when the O's were in postseason.

Robby was juicing and wrong side of 35. It can't be too surprising that he's fallen off. At least the Mets got 20mil and Diaz in that trade.

What you just described was the pre-injury Britton. I've been gung-ho on the acquisition since the moment we got him, just waiting for him to get back to where he was. Fantastic move.

Awesome job by Cashman and Boone – so far – this season...

Yup. Kelenic was always gonna be a stud.

This was bad from a mile away. Screamed marketing move.

I would not say he is "always gonna be a stud." Fangraphs ranked him 84th overall this year. MLB.com had him a 42. That's good but by no means a sure thing at all.

Here are hitters MLB.com had ranked between 37-47 between 2011 and 2014:

Guillermo Pimentel Wilmer Flores, Jose Iglesias, Gary Brown, Travis d'Arnaud, Jackie Bradley, Mason Williams, Matt Davidson, Mike Zunino, Kaleb Cowart, Alen Hanson, Bubba Starling, Joc Pederson, Jake Marisnick, Adalberto mondesi, Nick Gordon, David Dahl, Jesse Winker, Austin Meadows, Clint Frazier

Some good players, a lot of busts, a lot of bad players, and no real absoltue star level players (best being Pederson but Mondesi may make a run for that).

Yep, as @darko noted. He was complete filth from 2014-2016 and he's looking like it again. Really looked like it the further he got away from the injury last year as well. So far it looks like the Yanks made the right choices with Ottavino and Britton over Robertson who would be the 12324343th player on the IR for the Yanks this season (He's on the IR for the Phils for at least 3 more weeks).

Interesting choice to bring Green back in a high leverage situation fighting for 1st place.

Spring Training mentality.

Cano half-ass jogging because he thought there were two outs.

Deja Vu. You would tolerate this when he was competing for batting titles.
