I think Broxton is a great backup. Kind of hard to play him every day because the strikeouts are out of control but he can easily come in for defense, to steal a base, or to pinch hit in a spot where you need a boom/bust guy and hope for a homer

They really need another arm to start and probably another arm in the bullpen of they added those 2 players.

I would have wanted both of them back at those contracts.

But between the two, I'd definitely prefer Britton. Power lefty to compliment Chapman and the other right-handed relievers, and he's younger than D-Rob.

Are you kidding? That deal is FANTASTIC. It's essentially a 2 year/26 mil deal.

Britton will likely be fine also.

Yes but he also looked somewhat pedestrian prior to injury in 2017. Maybe he carried something for a while. Hopefully we see 2015 and 2016 version of Zack Britton. That guy was filthy.

Mets made some minor trades yesterday sending some minor leaguers to Houston for JD Davis and Cody Bohanek. They also sent Plaw to Cleveland for Walter Lockett and Sam Haggerty.

I liked Plaw, but there wasn't a spot for him once they decided to keep D'Arnaud.

But I do think Britton will bounce back. I also think Kahnle is a HUGE darkhorse for this team even if they sign Ottavino.

And I really am not giving up on Bird. Would not be shocked at all if he really pushes Voit for the spot in ST.

Yankees have been adamant about getting top prospects back for Gray as they should be. But they can shift gears to alter this if they are getting Kluber back instead. Attach a top prospect or two to Gray and let the Padres use those prospects coupled with their prospects to go to Cleveland.

Maybe Andujar becomes involved, but that is only IF the Yankees have signed Machado. Andujar and Gray to the Padres. Padres use their top prospects to go to CLE.
