Harvey is heads above any of the other young prospects the Mets were going to start bringing up. He's the best pitcher in the NL right now and losing him tremendously hurts any serious competing the Mets would like to do in the near future.

Tommy John isn't the death knell it used to be but you would obviously prefer he not need it. UCL injuries develop over years of stress. Probably related to his reliance on that hard slider.
