Good to see he's already skating.

Mitch should hang out with Matthews in the off-season to work on his shot. Whatever he's doing ---copy it.

Marner needs to get stronger too. Compare Matthews & Nylander to Marner physically, and it's like a teenager vs grown men.

The good news, Dubas says they will work on skill development more DURING the season under Keefe.

Can't wait to have Mitch back, hopefully him and JT can bring back some of that magic from last year.

As faltorvo said above, it’s more complicated.

The leafs were winning 2 out of 3 games all October/November last year, without Nylander. He joins the lineup Dec 1st, and the leafs have been well brow .500 since. It’s not just wins either. The compete level looks like an entirely different team since Nylander returned.

Is that all on Nylander? He’s so bad that adding him to the lineup made the team significantly worse in every capacity? Or is it clearly more complicated than that?

It’s obviously more complicated than the notion that adding Nylander derailed the Leafs, but that’s not going to stop people from mischaracterizing things.

It’s quite shocking to me that Marner hasn’t matured at all physically in the past four seasons. He’s really going to have to work on his body to gain more power to serve whatever game he’s playing than getting rag dolled his whole career.

Marner does well at his size though. Would be a shame if he added some muscle but lost his elusiveness.

Also, I feel like I have hardly ever seen marner get rag dolled. The hardest I've ever seen him get hit was when he tripped over his own feet and went flying into the boards.

Seems like he's ahead of schedule. Just a little over 2 weeks and he's already skating, which is good news.

Another week of light skating and then a week of increasing his skating. He could be back for the Leafs right when they go for their Western Canada road trip.

I must of missed the game where he was rag dolled.
Can you name 2 games?

He is really disadvantaged being 5 lbs lighter than Kucherov, 5 pound heavier than Panarin and 2 pound lighter than P Kane

I heard Keefe laid hands on his injured ankle in Arizona and sped up the recovery time by 10 days.

I’ve thought he would be out longer than 4 weeks, but seeing him skate around is a good sign.

You could really tell in that Keefe first game video that Marner is such an important part of the team, he’s a glue guy. Can’t wait for his return.

Would be huge for Marner come back on time (December 7th or December 10th). The fact that he’s skating already is very encouraging.

Leafs will need him badly for the playoff push.
