They just had a down game.
I don’t buy the being pushed…..I mean the same guys that were being pushed and showed no push back ran the same Vegas team out of their building in the first period just a few days ago.
A lot of posters just don’t grasp it’s the ebb and flow of a long season. Anything can happen game to game, even week to week.

We've also watched the ebb and flow over 8 seasons to know there are some play styles they don't really like playing in, and come elimination time other teams try their best to replicate those environments. Anything can happen but these players have weaknesses. Either they overcome them individually or the collective will have to bail them out where previous support casts have failed to do so.

I understand when they do that a few games in a row. Then it is legit to start concerning
Oilers won 16 straight, now 5 and 5, abysmal before their winning streak. Only after a full season we get an idea of how good or bad they are.
Had they pulled off that 16 straight wins at the right time, they march through the playoffs sweeping everybody. That’s why it’s all about a full season for me when I try and determine which team is the best.

To me, it is the way they played the game. Those 7 games they played, even the Philly one, the team played as a unit. Which I have not seen in a while. Put it this way, I didn't think they stole any of the 7 games. Thats more important than anything. As they were playing the right way. Right way might not = Wins but not playing the right way usually = Losses. Just need to continue to play hard, be accountable every shift and be accountable to each other.

It’s becoming known as Marner’s signature move… who else dishes those drop pass goals right in front of the goalie like Mitch does?

The game seriously slows down for Marner.

He should probably give it a rest for a while now. It’s getting predictable

What a bullshit comment. Lol.

Post game Friedman was raving about Marner, as was the entire panel for that matter.
Mitch was pretty good, a couple of blunders, but definitely a tough task to play D and you have to like he’s willing to do it, but referencing Friedman and the Sportsnet panel won’t help any argument.

Ya they only get paid for their opinions and talk to everyone around the league about players, but guys like you with an axe to grind are who I look to for guidance. Social media is a hoot.

No axe to grind, you are just a little too sensitive on the subject
Not at all, just guys like you that need to chime in on a good night for him. You responded because you're overly sensitive, like all of you are, it's called projection. Cheers.

What a beautiful set up on the Knies goal tonight.

Amazing how many teams are consistently fooled by that maneuver. Hurrr durrr, it’s almost like Marner’s talented or something.

Raise your hand if you still insist he should be traded for a few draft picks and a couple 3rd line pluggers.

Don’t feel embarrassed now, let’s see all those hands!

He truly is a unicorn in regular season play, but I have not liked him at all when it comes to the playoffs.

One more go at it, and if nothing comes of it - trade him.

When did I chime in exactly, and what have I said it the past 3weeks to a month, other than say he is much more engaged. I gave him his props for stepping up and playing D.

It’s posters like you that need to point out every time he makes a pass, and salivate over it, that shows insecurity and that he needs constant propping up.

Pretty sure no one has ever said that…

It’s like how you know Matthews is going to shoot but somehow he still stays open. Greatness just is.
