Fair market value is probably the way to go. If you have to overpay you're being dumb. If you try to underpay, well. I am ok with that.

I found him to be an exciting player for the most part. I think we won’t replace his offence and I don’t have faith we will find a goalie and 2 top 4 dmen by next season. Although if Woll can stay healthy but that is another gamble.

Rielly didn't really take that much less. He's currently a $7.5 million player with warts and I expect that to become a bigger and bigger overpay over time.
