Good for you.

One of the big problems is : Surgeons LOVE to operate.

It's how they pay their bills. Sadly, one surgery leads to another which leads to another. Surgery leads to nerve damage, scar tissue and other healing issues. Again, you are better off letting your body try and heal itself - like you did.

Yeah, we live in a commercialized society, a money making society, and I agree that surgeons love to operate, it's their job and they are getting paid big time...there are surgeries for almost everything imaginable, but the human body is capable of healing itself in many situations when given the time to do so.

You can always have your FIRST surgery tomorrow... next week... next year... next decade. However, you can't take a surgery back.

I'm sure Mitch is a fantastic person.

But this is NHL hockey.

Mitch is the one who is Marner > Team.
His contract negotiation told the tale.
He doesnt care about Cups, or teammates.

Of course Dubas shares blame.
He should not have been signed to a contract he was NEVER going to live up to.

And when Dubas gets fired he'll say "I believed in these guys".

Lame all around.

His contract is the same as every other player of his value lmfao you're delusional!

Remind me what top-3 playmakers make again?

I never would have signed Marner.

He has lead our team in points every year rookie! Most definitely has lived up too his contract!

Now Matthew's on the other hand has how many shots/chances this series and ooo what do you know only 1goal

Marner deserves lots of criticism but the idea that play had anything to do with "hearing footsteps" or being gutless is pure idiocy.

If he was scared to take a hit why didn't he just immediately clear the puck down the ice? No one was near him, if he did that he wouldn't have got hit at all. Why stand there and stick handle for a couple seconds and then flip as a small hit is coming?

It's a bad play, it's a dumb play - overcomplicating an easy clear by going for a soft lob into a dead spot to maybe kill an extra second or 2, but it has nothing to do with being scared.

I think it's pure idiocy to think he wasn't being gutless on that play

His brain thought he could make a skill play which is why he waited, and when he saw the Hab player in his peripheral he began turning left to avoid contact resulting in a complete shank

He was literally turning to avoid contact when the puck left his stick which is why that puck exited stage left

Completely f***ing gutless

i don't hate the guy
but i kinda had enough with his play, he plays like he has all the time in the World and never shoots but when he shoots it's all muffins. I am keeping Nylander and trading Marner.

Since signing his deal, Marner is like 8th in assists and 11th in points. That's a good offensive player, but certainly not top-3.

The primary issue, however, is that over the same period, he's 93rd in play-off points.

Agreed. Our young core cares about being paid like franchise players and not playing like one when the games are serious.

Yet you have teams like the Bruins, Caps, Pens, Lightning, and Aves who have cap space and stars. They want to WIN CUPS.

Our stars want to collect participation ribbons and feel like they tried real hard but other players were a bit too mean to them.

And how good has our team been in those playoff series, lol? Come on man!

Maybe if Matthew's could finish one of Marners dope plays he would have more points....or if Matthew's learned how to pass properly

The problem imo was the Tavares 11m contract, although one can argue that Tavares was older and had paid his dues in Long Island

That was the start of the undoing.

But Dubas still signed Marner to a contract he would never live up to.

I'm not convinced that Matthews doesn't have some kind of nagging injury. Of course, we won't find out until after the playoffs. With Marner, it's all in his head

Now do the same for the 3rd highest paid player with the shortest term of anyone in the top ~25.

Matthews has tried several cross crease passes to marner but his passes are always high and not very good. He's definitely not the best passer / playmaker.

It is amazing how much vitrol is thrown mitch's way but matthews gets a pass.
