Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. The admin team will continue to work on existing issues, templates and upgrade all necessary available addons to minimize impact of this new version. Click Here for Updates

I haven’t bothered watching a elimination game in 3 years. You just know the team doesn’t show up for them.

I really don’t think it’s a lack of effort that he didn’t produce. The Habs game plan work perfectly, take away Marners game by giving him no one to pass to. He had numerous high danger scoring chances but he just is not a finisher. Hopefully he works on his shot this year and becomes a better scoring threat because it was quite obvious that Habs had a good game plan against that line.
I skipped Gm 7 in 2019 against the Bruins. After the big comeback in 2020 I watched Gm 5 and thinking there was no way they could come out flat again this year I was hopeful.
Wrong again.

Funny thing about his contract that everyone calls him selfish on is that Rantanen and Werenski are now within a million to a million and a half of Marner now. Same draft almost same money really. For context it’s Engvall or Kampf type player difference right now. Certain critical stuff of the past holds no water right now other than slight over payment. Which was the beef about bonus schedule he received on signing that takes up some of that.

He absolutely deserves all the criticism he’s getting. What I don’t understand is how his other gutless pretender linemate is getting a feed pass from most fans. Because his effort was maybe marginally better than Marner’s.
If anyone can stomach it, try rewatch my game 7. I did couple days ago. The sense of urgency these two cowards put into such a critical game is shocking, but most fans want to gone the other fairy a pass.

I would not go that far.
He is currently a choker in playoffs but not someone who wrecked the Leafs.
The diff is 1.5mil or so. Instead of getting a 2.3mil player, Leafs need to sign a league min player.17 playoff games without scoring deserves every bit of criticism you have for him.

Marner drives me crazy when he tries to be too cute, and he definitely was horrible in the Playoffs, and he is overpaid IMO, but suggesting he wrecked the team, or we can’t win with him, seems more than a little over the top.

Don't think anyone is saying you can't win with Marner just the way the cap.has been allocated. And that the core may be the wrong mix.

I think I'm one of Marner's biggest critics these days and I agree, saying he wrecked the team is just nuts.
I just thought "wrecked" was the new vernacular the kids are using. Like when "bad" meant "good" and "dope" meant "good"

Hahaha. I hear ya. About 10 years ago I dropped my daughter off at university in one of my hot rods and some kid said “hey man that car is sic”
I had to ask my Daughter what that meant and was he insulting me. Lol
