I’ll take any bets he gets 13 plus as a free agent, a couple teams will take that chance with a rising cap, no question in my mind. Free agency is massive overpay time, and with cap room, it will get silly. Also for us, if we don’t resign Marner, we will most likely over pay some other mid tier stiffs to fill the void.Maybe someone does offer him 13, I wouldnt offer that and I would spend that 13 elsewhere. As for Mitch I think he takes 13 somewhere else that is too much to turn down even though he is a fan. 12 or less I think he takes our 11 offer. We only go around once (that we know of) and sometimes you do take a little less to be at home.
Ok but I only want to wager a month of posting, on the Leafs board. Since I never gamble. Me neither lol . He’s a premier talent, there will be GM’s who will vastly overpay. If the cap goes up as expected, I could see 13.5 open market, not saying right or wrong.Ok but I only want to wager a month of posting, on the Leafs board. Since I never gamble. Lol
Haha I was watching San Jose vs Winnipeg last night. The Sharks are in a way better spot that the black hawks. I think i rather play with macklin than Bedard
If he signs for the same percentage as last time won’t that put him around that number?Me neither lol . He’s a premier talent, there will be GM’s who will vastly overpay. If the cap goes up as expected, I could see 13.5 open market, not saying right or wrong.
Athletic today said Nylander’s percentage now will be 12.6 next year if cap moves up as floated. If he signs for the same percentage as last time won’t that put him around that number?
William is a 40 goal 100 point guy, for 11.5 , I’m good with that
Marner will have 7 years as a 100 point caliber player. Nylander had half of a year. And that's not even counting all of the other ways that Marner is better.Well William was a hundred point player once, Marner did it twice,
That's not a thing.he may have got 1/2 million more as a thanks or let’s say as a reward for over achieving his last deal.
If that’s the case he’s easily 13.Athletic today said Nylander’s percentage now will be 12.6 next year if cap moves up as floated.
Yeah I gave up trying to decipher their logic, made no sense.lol.. Marner is a 30 goal 100 point guy who knows where his own end is - and has a lot more starts there - currently for less money and you’re somehow against that.. so the logic doesn’t check out.
Marner is easily a better hockey player than Nylander.. it’s not close.
Tbh Matty was signed after an uninspired 85 point season with nagging injuries.Mathews is an injury we lost at something that can’t be foreseen. If Mathews was currently up for negotiations for sure it would be taken into consideration.
lol my oh my how the memory is short I’d give the nod to marner he’s a smarter player which helps in his own end but to suggest it’s not even close is just stupid lollol.. He is so much more clutch. LolThere is a reason Marner plays more and in more situations, produces more in the regular season and playoffs, was and will be paid more, has an A etc. etc.
I’ll leave it as an exercise to those following along at home.
Clutch lol.. one time out of the first round in his career..
I'm still stunned that some posters claim that the entire Boston series was blamed on Marner when that clearly isn't true.Better question; how come none of this logic EVER seems to apply to either Matthews or Nylander?
I'm still stunned that the entire Boston series was blamed on Marner when he was the only one of the three amigos to PLAY THE WHOLE DAMNED SERIES...

Whenever people are out of arguments they revert to the "why is Marner the only one taking blame" strawman. I'm used to it by now, it sure is boring though.I'm still stunned that some posters claim that the entire Boston series was blamed on Marner when that clearly isn't true.
Nice I fully agree, finish this deal before worrying about the next. This seems to contradict that?
Not sure how you got that thought from reading that.Nice I fully agree, finish this deal before worrying about the next.
Maybe it was the focus on winning not negotiating line. Not sure how you got that thought from reading that.
So you just read the title.Maybe it was the focus on winning not negotiating line.
So the title was just clickbait? Glad I didn’t fall for it. LolSo you just read the title.
Yeah, why be informed when ignorance seems to be the chosen path.So the title was just clickbait? Glad I didn’t fall for it. Lol
