Maybe someone does offer him 13, I wouldnt offer that and I would spend that 13 elsewhere. As for Mitch I think he takes 13 somewhere else that is too much to turn down even though he is a fan. 12 or less I think he takes our 11 offer. We only go around once (that we know of) and sometimes you do take a little less to be at home.
I’ll take any bets he gets 13 plus as a free agent, a couple teams will take that chance with a rising cap, no question in my mind. Free agency is massive overpay time, and with cap room, it will get silly. Also for us, if we don’t resign Marner, we will most likely over pay some other mid tier stiffs to fill the void.

Ok but I only want to wager a month of posting, on the Leafs board. Since I never gamble. Lol

Me neither lol . He’s a premier talent, there will be GM’s who will vastly overpay. If the cap goes up as expected, I could see 13.5 open market, not saying right or wrong.

Haha I was watching San Jose vs Winnipeg last night. The Sharks are in a way better spot that the black hawks. I think i rather play with macklin than Bedard

What is the more family friendly city areas?
Chicago or San Jose

Hawks trying for the first overall again? Maybe someone over 6' this time?

Bedard and marner average 184 lbs.?

Bedard supposed to be a center, but 30% face-off percentage?

Have watched both players, and it seems Bedard wants to do more, whereas Celebrini really seems to accomplish more. Also sporting a 49% at the dot.

Celebrini - marner
Bedard - marner

Celebrini shoots left like Matthews
Bedard shoot right.

Love to see both scenarios.

If he signs for the same percentage as last time won’t that put him around that number?

William is a 40 goal 100 point guy, for 11.5 , I’m good with that

lol.. Marner is a 30 goal 100 point guy who knows where his own end is - and has a lot more starts there - currently for less money and you’re somehow against that.. so the logic doesn’t check out.

Marner is easily a better hockey player then Nylander.. it’s not close.

Well William was a hundred point player once, Marner did it twice,
Marner will have 7 years as a 100 point caliber player. Nylander had half of a year. And that's not even counting all of the other ways that Marner is better.
he may have got 1/2 million more as a thanks or let’s say as a reward for over achieving his last deal.
That's not a thing.

Athletic today said Nylander’s percentage now will be 12.6 next year if cap moves up as floated. 👀
If that’s the case he’s easily 13.
How overpaid do we consider Nylander to be?

Yeah I gave up trying to decipher their logic, made no sense.

Mathews is an injury we lost at something that can’t be foreseen. If Mathews was currently up for negotiations for sure it would be taken into consideration.
Tbh Matty was signed after an uninspired 85 point season with nagging injuries.

lol my oh my how the memory is short I’d give the nod to marner he’s a smarter player which helps in his own end but to suggest it’s not even close is just stupid lol

There is a reason Marner plays more and in more situations, produces more in the regular season and playoffs, was and will be paid more, has an A etc. etc.

I’ll leave it as an exercise to those following along at home.
