Is OHL site being updated?

1 Christian Dvorak London Knights 26 26 35 61
2 Mitchell Marner London Knights 25 22 36 58
3 Matthew Tkachuk London Knights 28 13 42 55
4 Alex DeBrincat Erie Otters 28 32 22 54 12
5 Dylan Strome Erie Otters 25 16 37 53 12

Marner should have 61 points after tonight's game and GP should be 26

Marner isn't playing he's at Canadas WJC camp ?

Wait, are you guys telling me Marner is a healthy scratch in an OHL game?

Should have trade down and get more picks.

Do we all agree Marner wasn't good enough at Leaf camp this year? So three months later we are now anointing him as a sure thing to make it next year? The Leafs have stated they prefer to keep kids developing until they are 100% ready for the NHL.

NO, we do not all agree that. It was a TWO. GAME. SAMPLE. SIZE.

How bout sending Marner to Modo next year?

Assuming they'd be willing to play him at C like they did with Willie.

He'd be playing against men at least. And he'd have more time to bulk up. Maybe call him up at some point depending on his play.

I think sending him to Europe is actually the best option, and I'm sure management will consider it. Are we sure it's within the rules though?

People overrate the whole "Kid having to move to a foreign country" thing. There are always a tonne of other canucks and pretty much everyone speaks English in Sweden/Swtizerland/etc. I'm about Marner's age, and 95% of my program gets sent on exchange for a semester, it doesn't "hinder our development".

It was enough to see he wasn't NHL ready imho as well...I think the majority feels the same.

Two games is nowhere near enough to adjust to the NHL style of game, especially when you're on a line with Rich Clune.

If the Leafs wanted him to make the team they would have given him 5-6 games, with decent linemates, and he would have made all the naysayers here look foolish by the 5th and 6th games.

While I do agree it wasn't in the Leafs best interest to give Marner a chance, he did nothing to deserve a longer look.

It's not playing in a foreign country that could hinder his development, it's playing on a larger ice surface with different systems.

Fair enough, but I don't think that's much of a factor for a player who grew up playing North American hockey. Playing in the Swiss NL hasn't really changed how Matthews plays, because he already grew up thinking the game like an American player.

Does anyone actually think marner should have made the leafs out of camp and playing on a regular shift so far this season?

I think he would have adjusted after a few games (if he didn't get injured first). Might've had 10-15 points by now in my opinion. Again, the major assumption is that he is actually able to remain healthy in this hypothetical. The kids hockey IQ is too high for him not to have adjusted.
