I don't think Matthews touched it either.

Speaking of which, how come no one is dumping on Matthews and his single goal?

No one is posting in his thread but all the marner haters are out in force.

Its almost like they have some sort of bias.

How can anybody complain. This is all he's ever done in close out games. It's what got him paid.

Marner has played bad. Matthews has played worse. At least Marner is generating chances, unfortunately they all result in weak shots into Price's chest.

It's interesting that you have such strong opinions on Marner (and the Leafs in general) in the playoffs, when you're not even watching the full games. Funny enough, the first thing talked about during the first intermission was how Marner was flying out there and playing well. He had a great game. Seems quite odd to be judging a playmaker on exclusively goal totals.

More accurately, searching for any instance of what you want to see, and focusing only on that. Unfortunately, you're not following his play closely. You're ignoring his statistics, unless it's something like judging playmakers by exclusively goals. You're not watching the games, by your own admission. I'm not sure how that's "following closely". It's not really a surprise why your takes on Marner have been so wrong. It's very telling that what actually happened was a good game by Marner, and the broadcasters gushing over his play, and your response was to discuss the most negative off-hand comment that was made about him.

I've given plenty of valuable input on Marner, in this and many other threads. And even better, my input has been supported by the facts.

Using facts and evidence to show why somebody's opinion is incorrect =/= "attacking" people. You've been very vocal about Marner, with no substantiation, and you've been going around tagging people. Expect people to respond.

@Dekes For Days seems you have more posters who have unsubstantiated claims about Marner...lots of false information getting thrown around and wrong takes.

All these posters seeing what they want to see and not following his game close enough. Does everyone need to focus more on the assist he got because he is a playmaker?

Disgusting game. People say he is better then Matthews and better then McDavid, but heartless lazy Nylander is outplaying him.
Oh well, at least his fans can say man he can pass!
He’s a product of his centreman. If his centerman is playing like ass, hows the guy who leeches off of him supposed to do anything.

It could be that they’re both gutless. Or it could be that Montreal has done a good job shutting down the top players, but their so thin, that all they can do. That’s too logical though. I prefer the emotional analysis instead.

All I can say one of our high priced wingers is a playoff performer and it ain't this guy.

Seems wrong to group Nylander in the same contract category as Marner. He makes 4 million per season less than Marner. If Nylander is a high priced winger... than Marner is a ultra high priced winger.

Nylander could be producing at Marners pace this postseason and posters would be justified not being terribly upset with his production.

I think this playoff series Marner has had the most number of prime scoring chances but he just can’t bury one and is overthinking.

Should have had a few tonight.

One player makes more and is signed for less years.

Yet the one who signed for less and longer gets all the hate.

Hmm.

Objectively Marner is prime for being called out. So does Matthews. So does Hyman.

Sadly, no matter the reason, this line has 2 goals in 5 games. They have played great but are not finishing.

No execuses. It wouldn't be there for thos who pick on Galy, Nylander and Kerfoot.

They can't win unless our top line scores. Secondary scoring has been there.

Marner is 16 games without a goal. If that's any other Leaf, no one would have it, regardless of the impact of other areas.

The Leafs do not pay Marner 11 mil to PK.

They do not pay Matthews almost 12 to throw hits.

Hyman has been brutal. Injured? Probably.

Yet not a reason if it was anyone else.

Leafs will win. Beat the Jets. Then probably have a series against Tampa we cqn all disect later
