The Hitz just keep coming
Is Roope Hitz off to a slow start? After the season he had I was expecting much more in the playoffs from him.

Currently only managing a 2.2 PPG, hats off to Minnesota for containing him.

Only 1 goal at 5 vs 5, sad he has to rely on the PP for points.
What's missing in the Roope Hitz thread title?

Lol. I was totally blind to that "minor" typo on title. Hintz taken and the title corrected.

Too many beers maybe. :D

Seriously. Roope has not been exactly the most hyped player ever, and certainly not in Finnish hockey media. Lately his effort has earned him some well deserved coverage.

Seems to be emerging as one of those 'complete packages' as hockey player.

That's got to be my favorite goal in a long time. Everything about it was perfect.

Roope has just gotten better and better each year, his progress has been amazing.

I love how he never seems to get cute with it. Just all business of putting it in the back of the net. Go. Bang. Celly. Repeat.

Also I think I've seen multiple times when he gains separation while in glide. His skating truly is phenomenal.

Klingberg got walked.
The number of defenders who could prevent being walked by Hintz when he's in full stride is ridiculously low. His speed is unreal. As close to McDavid as you're going to see in this league.

The little bump pass by Seguin sets him up perfectly and then he goes top shelf short side. It's absolutely class. Given the context as Hartman had just missed it killed the entire game for Minnesota, which is what Dallas needed. From there the better team pulled away and put on a masterclass road win.

I think the Marchment buzzer-beater goal to close out the 2nd period was the real dagger, with none other than Dumba doing his best "controller disconnected" impression coasting behind him.

All in all a fantastic effort from all involved, but Roope the star of the show at least on offense and leading the way. :yo:

Not really, they just would need to be moving instead of being caught flat footed. Klingberg made several mistakes on that play, including being too far back and also being caught flat footed. Sure, Hintz is a good skater but for making defensive plays, you don't have to be as good of a skater as the forward.

He's the #1 center for Finland as far as I'm concerned, need to re-unite him with Rantanen

Would say he's #3 on that team now, after Rantanen and Aho.

I remember all the hype about Laine and Puljujarvi and it would seem both have fallen off since then.

With the difference that Puljujärvi is a fringe NHLer who might not be in the league much longer, and Laine is a PPG player in Columbus. (albeit not scoring goals at the rate he should be capable of)

Luckily jinx doesn't work, not at least in HFBoards.
(only way it to could work anyway would be that the subject participates or reads these threads)

2+1 today with great overall effort. Jukka Jalonen's wet dream.
