I kind of figured that as well, but when you look at the Penguin's prospect pool, the only two prospects worth more than the first are Kapanen and Pouliot. I doubt the Pens had any interest giving them up for Perron.

Edmonton is going all in for McEichel though. I wouldn't be surprised to see another big piece or two gone from that roster within the the next couple of weeks.

I'd rather have the first round pick over Kapanen to be honest. He's not close to playing in the NHL & he has some alarmingly bad habits.

If he's still in the FEL next year with his dad's team I have full confidence in saying he'll end up a bust.

That was the one I was iffy on, but Kapanen represents the type of wing prospect the Penguins have never had during the Malkin/Crosby era. If he pans out, it'll be an absolute homerun to put on Crosby's wing. I'm not sure it would be worth the risk just to go back into the mystery box.

I was talking from an Oilers perspective. I rather take the field over Kapenan since he's not close to the NHL anyway.

Ah, I see. I thought you were talking about the Pens. For the Oilers, in terms of value, I think the would still prefer Kapanen. He wouldn't fit on their roster because they're wing heavy, but I think he holds more value than a pick in the 20-30 range.

Well he was a pick in that range in a weaker draft though. He's going more backwards than he is forward currently in year one as well.

Well seems like the Flyers have a surprised scout watching the game LA between Nashville and LA. Two teams that make sense of us being linked to because of the Kings connection in Hexy and Nashville with Vinny before.

Maybe something is cooking between these teams?

This is very sad and frustrating news. Reminds us that there are human beings behind every website and several are only in existence due to superhuman dedication and effort. My prayers to Mr. Wuest for health and recovery for whatever he faces.
