Funny that we had Russians wearing the flag of the US military with no issues, but in 2023 the rainbows were too much.

Love doesn't always win when it comes to Ivan Provorov I guess
Ruined the fun for everyone
They're still having the nights, the players just aren't wearing the jersey. Players are still free to support whatever cause they want with their own time.If you sit at a table of 9 bigots and you don't say anything or back down, then you're at a table of 10 bigots

Oh great, this dopey argument again.
That’s why it never should have been a thing in the first place. This was always going to happen eventually when you tell people that they’re going to be advertising something instead of giving them an opportunity to volunteer/opt-in. The only question was “when, who, and which cause” would spark the issue. There are very good aspects of the special warmup jerseys, mainly fundraising. No one complained about any of them until people had a problem with the pride one. Saying no to all of them is the only option once the pride sweater became a big deal but most of the backlash from it is because the anti LGBTQ+ stuff is the flavor of the week(month/year) on social media.
It’s really just a whole real life example of “this is why we can’t have nice things”.
Then why even refuse to wear the jersey? The night is still happening anyway after all. Is touching skin *the line*?
We can go round and round if you want to use that as an argument...
Mind you, my life hasn't changed as a result of this, but it's just funny the NHL said "Alright, f*** it - no one gets anything now"
Well until Briere makes a trade, this dopey argument is the best we've got probably.
I will place no restrictions on what you can wear bb.There are very good aspects of the special warmup jerseys, mainly fundraising. How would you feel about a hard right wing owner (there are a number of them) requiring players to wear MAGA warmup jerseys? There are very good aspects of the special warmup jerseys, mainly fundraising. Maybe they don't want to? I'm not the one refusing to wear the jersey, so I can't answer that question. By doing away with the jersey, it keeps problems like what happened with the Flyers and Provorov from happening. They aren't canceling the theme night, so they are still including the people that matter. Then why even refuse to wear the jersey? The night is still happening anyway after all. Is touching skin *the line*?

Of course it is, it's just a position you support, so you don't consider it controversial.Supporting pride night and the LGBTQ community is not a political position.
Just keep that seatbelt buckled and keep following the reportingWas really hoping for a Flyers trade today.
That was kind of my thought. What does Boston have to give up?Hayes + Konecny?
love IvanI like how people are blaming Provorov for the league’s decision, instead of looking inwardly & realizing, “Gee, maybe if I focused on the good, instead of frothing outrage & trying to ruin the 1% who declined to wear the jersey, none of this would have happened.”

No better way to drum up support for a cause than forced compliance (and name-calling + a public witch hunt if you respectfully decline).
