At this point I guess you’re already fully committed to so it can’t really get much worse but at the same time this is a team that doesn’t have a particularly high ceiling as is. There really isn’t much on the bone there with the roster & there’s really nothing waiting in the wings either. You whole plan is essentially built on hopes & prayers that Sorokin can carry you a few playoff rounds because the rest of the team is lacking in that regard.

I don't think Barzal and Horvat are on team friendly deals. They didn't take discounts.

Color me skeptical that Sorokin will still be worth 8.25 mil in a few years. And then you've got 8% (currently 10%) of your cap tied into the most one-dimensional position in the sport.

He’s really not that bad. There’s worse players out there that get flyers taken on them because of their previous draft position. Not worth his previous draft position obviously but he could be a useful bottom six player still.

Looked into going but couldn't justify it between the weekday night game and the ticket prices (which weren't as cheap as you might expect for tourney between mostly C-list former minor leaguers).
