This is strange, unless they had to give Newhook a significant raise.
Colorado was already thin at forward, either they're reloading or gathering ammunition for a trade for a top 6 forward (with Landeskog out next season).

Don’t know if they can afford TK with their expendable assets?

Nice deal for the Jets if Dubois was going out anyway. Personally think he is overrated AF.

If Vilardi can stay healthy is a good haul. Rumors they are buying out Wheeler, who's legs are just shot.

Why does it have to be sign and trade? I thought you could do 8-year deals with players on your reserve list?

Colorado likely ejecting from a meh player while he still has some “higher” value.

He also has proven he cant play C at NHL level (Was drafted to be an NHL C)

So for Avs they move on from pick who didn't pan out while getting good value. Other team takes chance they can turn him around and he continues to develop.

Basically like Hawks/Habs last year with Dach for #13 and #66

I guess Winnipeg isn’t ready to hit the reset button. Not much in the way of futures.
They were never trying to rebuild. Just get younger. I don't think they want to put the market through the rebuild while begging for people to spend money.

I'm not a big fan of the Kings trade either, although moving Iafallo I think cost them more to do it. They're fortunate they have really good defensemen in their system, but I have no clue what they're going in goal. It doesn't seem like a big ticket they're going for.
