Wait...so Vegas won without having grinders?

Nahhhhh
Kolesar, Carrier, at forward are grinders. Amadio and Howden are marginal 3rd line scorers. Karlsson and Roy are as much forecheckers as offensive skill guys. Stephenson was a bottom six forward in Washington before coming to Vegas. Not a lot of fancy pants guys on this team.

On defense, Hague, Whitecloud and McNabb are offensively challenged. And Martinez is well past his prime.

Marchessault at 5'9 183 is the only small player on Vegas.

Vegas lead the league in blocked shots.

A Vegas/Boston final would've been more competitive. Panthers ran out of steam.

Ekblad played with a broken foot, two separated shoulders and a torn oblique.

Meanwhile I won't be getting out of bed because Vegas won a cup.
NHL players are a different breed. It's impressive how dedicated some of these guys are.

My friend sent this with comment ''hurts'' [he's a BOS fan, yes yes, I make some questionable life choices].

Like, serrrrriously, dude? You're sending me this post to me - a fan of disfunctional franchise w last cup in 1975 - a post about VGK - a franchise 6 years old - winning a cup; and Boston - 2 cups relatively recently and generally solidy run team (I'll ignore the Mitchell Muller saga for sake of argument)......

.... Can't relate, bye.

How many horror stories do NHL players need to hear before they understand that playing through bad injury is a f***ing terrible idea? Expand rosters, fine noncompliance, and dismantle the culture of tough guy idiocy. The Cup isn't worth a lifetime of pain. I'm not sure if young players are experienced enough to understand that.

Leading the league in blocked shots is bad.

I don't mind the tweet, but I wish people would account for cap inflation more in general.

When the Pens won the Cup in 2009, Crosby was on a $8.7m cap hit with a cap ceiling of only $56.7m. So his Cap Hit percentage for that season was 15.3%. Eichel's CH% in 2023 is only 12.1%.

I hadn't actually seen these estimates before:

You should feel shame. It’s shit. The other hats are produced by New Era and the SC one is fanatics.

The quality is a joke. It’s just cheap/easiest to mass produce with no care for quality control. My Avs had from last year is already falling apart.

The rest of those hats are awful and gaudy (NBA one).

I'm sure he was juiced up but it's not like his play was anything good either.

and yet they'll last longer than a year because they're not 100% heat pressed crap.

That's a fair point but I don't wear hats anyways so from my point of view I couldn't care less.

I'd rather buy a hat that's actually better quality to begin with besides all that junk. That's ignoring all of the nonsense loser crap that gets made and disposed of in a 3rd world country.
