Again, they did not go all in.

That very statement is disingenuous but at least you took out the "27 goal scorer" part of it so that's progress. A team being able to pull off the trade that they did to get Tkachuk means that they didn't go all in.

You're taking your stance and working backwards to prove it. We see through it.
Tippett was a #10 pick who was 22 when the trade was made, while 27 goals was not guaranteed, it was foreseeable.
He had significant value, he was more than a throw-in.

Giving up that many assets at the TDL is "going all in" in my book.

Hold up, my necromancer, Scrotor, has a ton of potential builds available. I don't know if every class has so many viable builds, but there is way more depth than I expected even from the beta.

If you disagree we will have to wrestle to the death on a jetty.

A long time ago, I went on a terrible first date where she drunkenly fell off of a jetty into the Bay here. Might I also add she was drunk because she ordered 5 (five) "Red wine and diet coke, something expensive." Yes, they were mixed together. Yes, the waitress was confused too.

If she's still alive, I think she and Scrotor would make a lovely couple.

I’m begging you, introduce me. My life is dull.

I hope she at least looked like a hot prospect, even if she lacked intangibles.

Columbus should be pretty improved next year. It sounds like they’re gonna be drafting Carlsson so that should be another potential new addition to their lineup.

I assume Columbus definitely plans on using Provorov as a mid pair guy now. If he buys in that could be good for them. Werenski & Severson should take most of the juicy usage there. Hell even Boqvist should be ahead of the pecking order offensively at least.

Edit: On second look at their defense now. I wonder if they potentially try to trade Gudbranson in a deal for Hayes?

Werenski - Severson
Boqvist - Provorov
Bean - Peeke

Jircek waiting in the wings as well. It’s hard to really imagine them using Gudbranson still with all those options even if the contract is relatively new.

I was thinking the same thing. Gudbranson would be a good soldier to add for the tank too lol. If we are taking back Gudbranson though, I don't think we should be retaining much if anything on Hayes.

That might be the form of retaining & perhaps you even get better compensation out of it. DeAngelo potentially getting traded opens a spot too where Gudbranson could be a placeholder.

I want to learn more about the red wine and coke, because the depravity here is fascinating

Gudbranson is probably a guy they can flip for another pick in a year or two as well to some cromagnon GM.

A friend of mine that I am estranged from used to do this. He was the most depraved person I know.

This reminds me that I finally found a decent Supertuscan-like red blend at one of the pa state stores around here

Severson. Proud plat

I am once again here to tell you that automerge is the worst feature ever rolled out in the history of the internet

They have Blankenburg too, signed for pennies, and he's not bad depth.

My worry is that Gudbranson titillates Jones and Tortorella so much that the Flyers don't actually get value for taking that shit contract for 3 years and $4MM per (with a 10 team NTC he might have to waive). A bad veteran 6'5 RHD is right up their alley. Keith Jones would certainly be in heaven from how he's talked and what we know.

Now, this team will suck the duration of that anyway -- that's the hope. He'd make them worse, even if they don't know it. But Columbus only has their own 2nd now this year, and I'm skeptical that's moved. Like if the Flyers trade Hayes to Columbus (with retention?) for Gudbranson straight up, or with some future 3rd rounder attached, that's pretty crappy. Eat however much of Hayes' deal to get a real piece back.

Yeah it’s possible. If it’s executed right & you truly see him as a cap dump with Hayes flaws & all being a significantly better player I’d do it if the mindset is a pure cap dump where you squeezed additional value. Like I’d do it if it was taking that contract back with no retention on Hayes & it gets you some value.

Looking at Seravelli’s trade list though he has Peeke on it as the odd man out citing nobody wants Gudbranson’s contract.

Friggin Fanatics.

Adam Fox already gets a Mitchell & Ness blouse and it's a style that is readily available because it's the style that's still being worn on the ice.

They couldn't do Leetch? Messier? Richter? Ratelle? Gilbert?

Severson got the exact same contract as Sanheim's extension.

You can't tell me Sanheim's extension is egregiously more than he would have received if he were set to hit UFA July 1.

This is why those who for months have acted like Sanheim's new contract is an unmovable anchor are wrong.

Teams would have given him the same deal this summer, so gotta think they'll be willing to take it on in a trade if the Flyers want to move him before it kicks in.

On Day 2 will Fletcher walk in an hour late, completely unaware that there is a Round 2?
he will make 17 comments then leave the desk thinking hes done...

Sanheim would have gotten that deal last summer, but his performance last season would have made teams think twice.
If he rebounds and has a couple solid seasons, he'll be easy to market at 29 with 6x6.25M left on his contract with a rising cap.

This is a very thin UFA defense market, it’s a position that comes at a premium, & Sanheim is only 27 next season.

If he were on the open market, there would be competition, & teams would be willing to write off his down year & give him a contract equal to his extension & what Severson just got as a pending UFA.

Are you saying Charles Entertainment Fletcher shackled this team with (yet another) boat anchor of a contract?
