Speaking of CBus, Marek had Portzline on there today discussing CBus.

Marek said there were some young guys scratched for game 1 and wondered if it was due to an impending trade. Also said people must be wondering if Babcock didn't get let go since it was kids scratched.

Portzline said all the comments around the team were actually if Tortorella had made out the lineup card. And they laughed and laughed.

Guess a guy who hosts a National hockey show and one who follows the CBJ, don't read Dead's essays. How uninformed they are.

“The club is aware that there is an ongoing investigation,” Ambri-Priotta wrote in their team statement on the signing. “…to date there has been no charge nor conviction against the player. The club reserves the right to review the contractual situation with the player should new elements emerge. The player, for his part, has the possibility of returning to the NHL at any time if the second investigation were to resolve like the first with nothing done. Out of respect for the ongoing investigations, the player and club will not release further statements on the situation.”

He’s not wrong about the playing style. I’ve said it about him that he seemed to get more involved initially in the transition game in his early years here.

No he’s not a PP guy, but he’s a prime example of the piss poor development in Philly. He got gifted a lot of minutes, too much probably - but in terms of extracting skill, or developing a creative part of players games they struggle mightily as an org.

Good for him for asking out.

He went from routinely being a one-man transition with the puck to a typical shitty Flyers dumper.

Tell me more about how this team isn't complete shit at development and skills maintenance

Marty Biron said on the Ray & Dregs podcast that he heard Brisebois give an interview in French saying he didn't feel pressure to go get another goalie because basically goalies 20-50 in the league aren't all that different. The Vas is one of the few true difference makers at goalie in the league, and there's no way to get someone else like him now.

Biron also told a funny story about playing for the Flyers on Boxing Day 2008 while still being sick after missing two weeks with the swine flu. They lost 5-1.

Their GM is as bad as Hextall, doesn't know if he's coming or going:

trades Foligno for Toronto 2021 1st, 2022 4th
trades 2021 2nd for Jake Bean
trades Dubois & 2022 3rd for Laine and Roslovic
signs Kuraly, 4yr/$10M, M-NTC for last 3 years
trades Seth Jones for swap of 2021 1sts, 2021 2nd, 2022 1st, Boqvist
signs Gudbranson (30) 4yr/$16M
signs Gaudreau (29) to 7yr/$68M deal
trades Bjorkstrand for 2023 3rd, 4th (salary dump)
signs Robinson 2yr/$3.2M
sign and trade 2023 3rd for Severson (29) 8yr/$50M
trade 2023 1st & 2024/25 2nd for Provorov

Starts rebuilding, but in one year he's throwing money and draft picks around like a drunken sailor.
And he's giving long-term deals to players 29-30 years old.

Ekholm out injured for Edmonton seven months after being traded from Nashville.

Sounds a lot like the humble beginning of Ryan Ellis' injury. He also hurt a hip flexor muscle (torn illiospoas) after coming over from Nashville to a new team. Interesting.

Putting a lot of pressure on Dorion, I'm sure his teammates understand, lowballing players does not sit well in the clubhouse.

Does G come back in two years to play with Couts and Michkov?
