I believe re-tear? Isnt that what he hurt over the summer? Or was it his knee

I know he had the injury in the offseason but I don't know that I've ever seen a hockey player tear their Achilles on the ice. Karlsson but that was a dirty play.

It's rare to see the dreaded non contact ligament injuries on the ice. Even though hockey is quick start/stop, there's no planting of the foot that puts all the torque on the ligament. The hockey stop is a very natural position for the leg. Physics does all the work; the skate blade absorbs the torque

I didn’t follow the thing super closely, but apparently Necas got a bunch of votes on twitter, and it’s impossible to ignore what canes fans can do in large groups (see the Buffalo Sabers Suck! incident).
