remember when some here said the Rags were aging out and needed a full rebuild. while we were primed to contend..

lol well that worked out well...

*looks at standings*..

🤣

I was told we still had time to go before moves were made.

Anyway, that's one less team to sell to.
chucks just waiting to see who wants to offload their worn out old dogs or face punchers

Unfortunately, the prime targets like O'Reilly, Meier, Chychrun... have to go first. Whoever the Flyers make available will only be seen as a consolation prize to those who miss out.

St.Louis are doing the text-book rebuild and will be competitive again in no time. THe Flyers should have gone that route by trading G and Jake 3 years ago. It's easier to sell that to your fanbase if you won a cup recently though.

We will trade our first for aging vet instead. Oh nevermind we already got Fisto.

It continually blows my mind that teams that have won the Cup in this decade of the Flyers winning 1 round are drafting a lot more than the "rebuilding"
Flyers.

All while giroux is and always has been a much better player
Toronto also got Acciari, and ROR didn’t have trade protection.

Giroux has had a better career, but has never had a playoff run like ROR did in 2019.

3 years ago they were a top 10 team heading into the playoffs when Covid hit. St Louis are missing the playoffs and trading off their UFA vets. That’s not similar to where the Flyers were in 2020.

In the last four years St. Louis has won a SC, made the playoffs all four years including last year where they were one of the best teams in the league. They’re willing to admit it’s over & they need a full rebuild meanwhile the Flyers without any of the success are still kicking the can.

The Flyers have essentially re-signed nearly all of their would be potential UFA trade chips over that time sans Giroux (Couturier, Laughton, Ristolainen, Sanheim, etc.).
