Last day before a mini break and not having played yesterday, the Jackets and Hawks are playing their backups against each other.

*I did not check to see if either starter is injured.

Stalock is actually best goalie on roster but this is his first night back after being injured

Mrazek has been god awful and its best for rookie (Soderbloom) to be in AHL not on this mess

Mrazek has truly been an astonishing tank commander. Gives up the worst goals you will ever see and destroys what little confidence Hawks display in games. Literally every time they do something good here comes Mrazek to say "No joy fellas"

It's really amazing just how far he has fallen that Alex Stalock is better G

Former future 1st overall pick Aatu Raty scored in his first NHL game tonight.

Considering the level of goaltending, you could argue all of Gretzky’s were empty netters.
Looking back at both of their careers, Gretzky probably could have scored at least 100 more if he wasn't so unselfish.

I'm not sure anyone in my lifetime has been as trigger happy as Ovechkin.

Two completely different ways of accomplishing something no one else in history has done.

The more empty netters he scores, the less I enjoy the chase.

I always like to see records broken, though.
I am pretty sure that Wayne Gretzky has the most empty net goals. I am pretty sure he has more than OV, right now.

I heard this on the EH podcast, so I am going from memory. I might be wrong.

Meh.

900 illegitimate goals vs 1000 illegitimate goals.

Not a big difference to me.

Gretzky has 2 more ENGs, I believe. So, while true, it's a higher %. Give it 2 weeks, and Ovechkin should take that record.

For me we should start to define different times in Sports. Its stupid to say Maradona was as good as Messi. Or Ovi is better than Gretzky. Totally other times and the Sport is whole lot different. Its like woman soccer and male soccer. You cant comepare it!

Can we borrow Mrazek for the rest of the season?

You are likely in a small minority ....Love Ovie and his passion for Hockey and could care a less about his politics.....here is hoping he will break the Great one's record in the near future.
Thanks for your answer, Devonator. I don't disagree about Ovechkin as a dynamic superstar. I don't like his cloak of referee invisibility he has worn through his career, including some very questionable hits he has thrown.
