Magua
Entirely Palatable Product
I remember a lot of people being right from the start. I do believe @Magua correctly crucified the Flahrt hiring, with a bunch of us dismayed that the Wonderteam that was responsible for the Minnesota Wild were reuniting to Wildify the Flyers.
Their drafting record in Minnesota was notably poor across the spectrum: pick volume, depth hits, high ceiling picks. Without a certain 5th round pick, who they were so giddy to take they took Greenway and a Czech league goalie with their preceding picks, it crumbles. That 2018 draft, after Fletcher left and it was only Flahr, was a doozy. Again, not surprising that the more influence those two had on the Flyers scouting, the worse it got.
There really is a certain skill level where you can’t help but question if people have eyes.
You mean Kakko and Lafreniere and Owen Power and and and and aren't better? Stupefying stuff. I thought that Jack was the best prospect since Matthews, with legit top 10 scoring potential, and I lean conservative. Important to emphasize "prospect." I think Dahlin was up there, but defensively are inherently harder to project.
Now, the actually interesting topic is Bedard vs. Hughes. I remember asking Toe this during the summer WJC. We both leaned Hughes still, acknowledging they're on the same tier. At least for me, it's the skating tool.
