If I were a lawyer, I'd be setting up a class action suit against Peel and the NHL on behalf of anyone who has lost money betting on a game he was officiating.

That's match fixing.

I'm stunned they fired him. SOP for the league is to wait a few days to issue a statement, say they're investigating, then slow-drag it until everybody forgets. I would have bet the house they wouldn't fire him in under 24 hours.

I mean we saw it in the game last night, just without the hot mic. They blow the call on Sanheim. Jersey scores. The very next shift they call Ty Smith for a "hook". It's never going to change. It's in every sport. Officials are always trying to balance the game. And they do.

But what I've been told is this: If they trade him, what they really want is four pieces that are first-round picks, or players that are playing if not in the NHL or elsewhere in the NCAA that are first-round picks that are having success. ...
