At the end of the first period, Seattle had uncontested possession of the puck with a solid 15 seconds left. Enough time to make one final rush without really having to worry about a counterattack.

Just in case anybody was wondering how Seattle fans are responding to Hak after a season + four games:

Don't ask me why but I get this feeling that Hakstol is more in the hot seat than a lot of us think. Not sure if Francis is going to be that patient this season.

I’m starting to think this as well. His decisions are making less and less sense and reek of desperation.

I agree. I’m a little worried about the compete level I’m seeing tonight though, since the 3rd Carolina goal. The team didn’t quit last season, even when they sucked. Tonight isn’t looking the same. Quite a few players are done.

Sounds familiar as he carried on for another couple years.

To be fair, we never really got to see Hak with a good team so he's impossible to judge.

This is exactly what happened in October of his 2nd season in Philly. I was calling for his head before Thanksgiving in Season 2. He was here another 2 full seasons after that.

Has to be. The Leafs are viewed as maybe the best team in the league, at home, against a team clearly tanking for a generational prospect. Maybe one of those 2015 Buffalo teams had a line like that but it’s an absurd line in a fluky sport like hockey.

Murray is injured, but Samsonov is probably the better goal tender in any case.
