the disrespect this man gets...is 1-1 too early for me to pick Jack Hughes?

Everyone is better than Hughes, dontcha know? Lafreniere, Power, Slafkovsky, pretty much every 1-1, or 1-2, or 1-3, or 1-4, or

Stutzle just signed for more than Hughes. Now, you can be bullish on Stutzle and think the upside will make it a steal -- and it's fair to believe Ottawa's team scoring will jump, so get out ahead of it -- but Jack Hughes is elite today. His scoring and microstat profile was and is just substantially better. It's that of a superstar. Norris and Suzuki signed for about the same; Thomas (who I love) a little more, albeit after 1 year of his bridge. That Hughes contract will look like the MacKinnon contract in several years, when Jersey is competing.

There's going to be a lot of people surprised when Jack puts up 80+ this year. I won't be one of them. That kid is a f***ing player

I even had 90 and edited to 80 lol I couldn't remember with the injuries. Still, he's going to vault into star status, and I'll laugh at everyone who "didn't see it coming"

Watching hockey in Canada via a legal streaming service used to cost the cheap sum of $150 per year, which got us access to almost every game each season. Now it's going to be $250.

The NHL and Rogers can f*** themselves.

This will undoubtedly be the least amount of hockey I have ever watched in a calendar year, beginning in October 2022

It looks like more than that - $34.95/mo for the premium SN package that includes all NHL games. That's like $400/year. It's probably fair for real sports nuts who get value out of it, but that ain't me.

It's like cable bundling all over again.

You can pay $35/month or subscribe for a full year at $250, per their website. FYI.

No it’s $250 for the year but I think you get Jays and Raptors too now instead of just NHL. That’s paid up front lump sum

Any Canadians here know what the deal is with NHL LIVE?

It's no longer with Rogers - you gotta sign up to some Sportsnet NOW package.

I just want hockey - I don't watch any other sport. In fact, I would just take the Flyers if I could. Is the standard package going to give me the same as NHL LIVE / Gamecenter in the past (e.g. all Flyers games, basically)? It's hard to tell from their pricing page.

Sounds like I need to pay DOUBLE what I was paying last year just to have the same level of content as NHL LIVE???? Seriously, this is criminal. Streaming is going back to the same predatory tactics that old cable did.
DM me if this doesn't fly. Use a VPN and sign up for NHL gamecenter (I use a Caribbean island to avoid any sales tax). Then just choose a country when watching games, France always works for me.

Surprising.

It’s really not hard to find 4th liners for pennies. Here’s one that consistently grades as excellent defensively (if you’re a team that only talks about defense), and he only needed a PTO and not a 4 year contract with a NTC.

Yeah but when’s the last time the Flyers were hard to play against besides 19-20?

Do season ticket holders get advance notice of when they’re raising banners?

I’d really like to get tickets for when they raise that “Got Hot For A Few Weeks Before COVID” one or when they retire Niskanens number.
Too long, the banner will just read "Hard to play against: Feb 2020".

Is there a more pathetic display of clutching at straws than "don't worry guys they were good for a month, 3 years ago"? You'd think the way some prop it up as a defence of Charles Entertainment Fletcher, that it was the finest collection of players ever seen by mortal eyes; literal gods on skates.

Give me a f***ing break. ~15 games that took place 3 years ago is the only thing the participation trophy brigade can cling to. They'll whisper legends of those games to their grandchildren. "The season that got away"
