Womp.
If @PierreVLeBrun already reported it, why act like you have a scoop, Elliotte?
Womp.
For roughly an equivalent price that we paid for Risto, mind you.
I mean, that's just a good trade for LA. They're dealing from a position of strength with their prospect pool, and a 19th overall + 2nd round defender is far from bad for RFA rights to a dynamic point/game player in his prime. Faber could be quality depth, but this seems like a no brainer if LA wants to emerge from their rebuild.

I like it for both teams but Minnesota does good for not having to pay him considering they never could in the first place.I mean, that's just a good trade for LA. Something like 1.5 million more than they have space for with a few other slots needing filling.
Fletcher's legacy!
The 12.7 million dollar cap penalty Fletcher's management led to probably harmed Minnesota's leverage.
Or could be a blessing cause it forces them to push Matt Boldy up the lineup and from what he showed this year he's pretty good.
its quite a conundrum...probably the smartest thing for them to do is to use the 3 years to sell of the good assets they have left for future value. Very unfortunate considering they have Kaprizov in his prime. Theyll need a lot of value from ELC players.Minnesota's cap situation gets pretty dire next season.

Wouldnt having Fiala AND Boldy in their Top 6 be more ideal?

Yeah but one was signed in the flat cap era and one was pre-COVID.$7.9 mil for 85 point, 26 year old Fiala.......or $7.14 mil for Hayes?
It's a toughie.
