So is over performing last followed up by a massive step back this year good for the culture?

They need to get on track and play faster, like last season.
The ideal outcome is to control play and lose b/c your goalies suck.
Easier to replace your goalie than your whole team (the Devils hope so).

It's so easy to replace goalies that the Devils traded a 24 year old NHL defenseman and a 1st rounder for a 34 year old goalie who has been bleh 2 of the last 4 seasons. Hopefully, the Flyers follow suit.

I don't think Ersson is bad, but the best thing to happen to this team is to get below average goaltending. Good teams get sunk by that, let alone already mediocre teams. The Flyers have so many warts as a team, and now there's no hiding them. Goodie.

@VladDrag It’s early, but this is interesting.

Fully expect this to change in the second half when it is time to Become Serious About Playoffs or whatever goofy thing GMs and Coaches believe.

Ryan Parent was named head coach of the Devils' AHL team after Kevin Dineen was fired. Parent had been serving as an assistant coach.
