Lou is literally 30 years behind the times.

For the second time in less than a year, Domino's no-beard policy has been ruled discriminatory. In the recent case of Bradley v. Pizzaco of Nebraska, d/b/a Domino's Pizza, 1993 WL 417845 (8th Cir. 1993), the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit held that Domino's failed to prove that a business justification existed for its no-beard policy. Earlier in the proceedings the no-beard policy was found to have a disparate impact on African American males suffering from pseudofolliculitis barbae ("PFB"), a skin condition which often makes shaving difficult and painful.

No-beard policies disproportionately affect African American males. There's no justification for them in the workplace, unless there's a safety issue with employees having beards. Which there is not in hockey.

He actually went there and made it about race.

Duclair himself probably doesn't think it's a big deal, but of course people on social media will turn it into a hate crime.

I’m guessing Lou is just an old school Italian Catholic & that’s where it lies. In those traditions you’re expected to keep shorter cut hair & clean shaven beards. But at some point you have to grow with the times.

There’s a difference between someone looking like a caveman with unkept long hair/beard & someone who has them but keeps up with it with styling & such to make it look like clean up kept look.

Having spent enough time around old school Italian Catholics, I can assure you the most likely growth with the times Lou would be experiencing is in the waist area.
