Kimmo talked about Rempe on his podcast, noting that elbowing someone is not tougness.

Few moments later he answered a question about ’intimidation factor’ of such player(s): ”If I were to play against the Rangers, Matt Rempe wouldn’t even cross my mind. I would be more worried about the skilled players.” (paraphrasing)

He also said that if it were up to him, he would have traded more players for picks and noted the importance of the next seven games (as in, he understands that the flyers were in a playoff spot during the deadline which made trading players away harder, but he would have been more foresighted).

The prince that was promised.

Reminds me of one episode a few weeks back when the co-host said that the Flyers have butchered Kimmo’s number by giving it to Deslauriers (gave some examples of his play too iirc) and Kimmo tried to stay polite by not saying anything but his laugh was pretty evident.

Players to wear 44 since Timonen was traded:

Phil Varone
Chris Stewart
Nate Thompson
Nic Deslauriers

I like to think there is an alternate timeline (the good one, just to specify), where Kimmo became the GM instead of Briere and he sets this team on the golden path because he actually has a plan.

Every team that doesn't have Kimmo on their staff is doing it wrong.

If you had told me in 2018 that in 5 years Kuznetsov would do the bird celebration with Guentzel on the ice as his teammate, and that that team would be the Canes, I'd have called you crazy.

But here we are. These is the times.
What would you have called me if I told you that in 2024 the Flyers IR would be this, and they all had 2-4 years of term left? :D

We need someone to take over when Briere eventually falls out of favor.

Who knew that Kimmo would be smarter than Briere?

The Drysdale trade was a head scratcher for me. I'm not one to gamble on players with frequent injuries. (It also means GM BlackandOrange wouldn't have grabbed Mark Howe). Treat it like relationships you don't go for baggage/damaged people.
