He’s a project with short term obsolescence. Perhaps can be traded for some similar player that a team has given up on. Nothing earth shattering.Nobody is taking him, he sucks and has never played one full season at any level
Not sure if Cozen actually qualify as a good center either. All in on Cozens i guess. Not a lot of good center available.
Barzal has a much better track record and is signed through the Suzuki/Caufield window for a similar cap hit.cozens is younger
Sabres fans are not sure if he is even a center... I don't want another ?? Times up. I want us to pay to get a real top 6 center. Not sure if Cozen actually qualify as a good center either.![]()
But Barzal is not playing much center with Islanders either. I think Horvat would fit much more what we need.Barzal has a much better track record and is signed through the Suzuki/Caufield window for a similar cap hit.
Enough with the gambles.
AND hurt bad? not sure of thatBarzal has a much better track record and is signed through the Suzuki/Caufield window for a similar cap hit.

Luckily things change plus fans are not privy to who teams might make available down the line.I don’t even know if where gonna be able to acquired a quality 2nd line Center this offseason since I don’t see who is gonna be available
I wouldn't mind that either.Sabres fans are not sure if he is even a center... I don't want another ?? Times up. I want us to pay to get a real top 6 center.

No way on PJ boy.Not sure the interest would be mutual but I wouldn't mind taking another swing at Tavares as a UFA.
I feel like he'd stabilize our C situation for the near future until guys like Hage/whoever we draft this summer is ready to come in and would be a good veteran presence after that.
Most likely a pipe dream though...
Yeah I wouldn't be against a stop gap for 2-3 years like Granlund, Duchene, Nelson etc. If we draft a center this draft, 2-3 years would be a great timeframe for this center and Hage to come by. There would even be a spot at 3C disponible if they make the roster sooner than the 2-3 years. Not sure the interest would be mutual but I wouldn't mind taking another swing at Tavares as a UFA.

I'm not too bothered by such things, it's business. No way on PJ boy.
he said no before dont need that old fart in MTL
go back to figland
I think that's the most realistic option.Yeah I wouldn't be against a stop gap for 2-3 years like Granlund, Duchene, Nelson etc. If we draft a center this draft, 2-3 years would be a great timeframe for this center and Hage to come by. They would ask for far too much.Sounds like Anaheim may want to add instead of selling off, but if Mason McTavish is available that would be an interesting option.
Yep. These players are not trade material unless they struggle for a couple a years and team lose patience. But then they become projects like we already tried too many times. You have to draft them. As simple as that. They would ask for far too much.
Barzal is established and you know what you’re getting.cozens is younger
To replace Evans, yes he could be a good targetI would look at Colton Sissons from Nashville. 31 years old at under 3mil for one more season. He is having an off season like many on the Predators, but the last 2 seasons he had 12 goals 30 points and 15 goals 35 points, Good on face off, play on the PK, good size, plays a little physical and ex teammate of Carrier.
He would be our Sam Bennett lite.
Cozens has 30 points in 57 games, while Evans has 27 points in 59 games. I wouldn't be against Cozens on the cheap but he won't be cheap and his big season is looking more and more like a fluke. All in on Cozens i guess. Not a lot of good center available.
Yep! Sissons can play 15-16 minutes a game. We would need to find another centre capable of playing 14-15 minutes a game to share the #2/#3 spot with Sissons. I think a rookie makes the team next year.To replace Evans, yes he could be a good target
I don’t think Lou is a seller. Not for futures.Barzal has a much better track record and is signed through the Suzuki/Caufield window for a similar cap hit.
