Ok, so catching up on today and the takeaway seems to be that the Flyers story of the day is arguing about whether Keith Jones is an idiot or just plays one on the radio while the Canes were more aggressive than everyone else on Pettersson and now are linked to Buchnevich. That’s the two best players rumored to even theoretically be available. Well that about sums it up.

I was looking at his stats. 17/37 points being on the PP, along with 14/24 assists being secondary, and only 82 shots in 49 games does not worry me at all with regards to regression. Developmental arcs are long, and the Flyers could still be right.

For me how the Stars let him develop is the key. They obviously draft well but the Flyers tried to throw the player they picked right before him in the Ahl and failed miserably. Dallas sent him back for overage season and stewed him in the A. Not knowledgeable on the Stars Ahl coaching but I’d bet my dog it is better than the Flyers

We're going to be tight enough to the cap as is when we trade Frost, Seeler, Sandstrom, and a 1st for Vatrano and Gibson to help the playoff push, we can't afford to do that, too.

You can only retain on 3 players and we’re already retaining on Hayes. I imagine they retain on Walker too and maybe another one of our player if we move them out. I wouldn’t waste one of our retention spots on a 6th round pick unless it was one minute til deadline and we still had one left.

So strange to name him captain and then cut his minutes down to 4th line all within 2 weeks. I agree he needs to be better and everyone should be held to the same standard but so odd.
