Can Conor Garland play LW? Also, are the scouting reports on CapFriendly worth anything?

Lemieux came out of 4 year retirement due to chronic back issues in 2001 at 35 years old and dropped 35 goals, 76 points in 43 games. The league was entering the clutch & grab dead puck-era with lower scoring than we have today and goalies playing the butterfly already except with chest protectors as big as mini-vans. Oh and there was still the two-line pass rule. Penguin or not, put some respect on his name.

Not really sure how feasible it is from multiple standpoints but just as far as scenery/aesthetic one of those big air craft carriers for outdoor game would be cool like basketball does.

McDavid wouldn't even need to deke around him. He'd just skate on by

As I sit here and eat my dinner at almost 9pm, thanks to our wonderful daughter, after a fresh pen zap, I've been reminded how awesome the NHL is scheduling their start times. Let's just start all the games on the hour rather than a couple on the half hour so that all games are in intermission at the exact same time

On one hand, I agree when the Flyers aren't playing.

On the other hand, I hate when Flyers games start later than 7PM, especially on a weeknight.

I think you could strap skates on Mario TODAY and put him on an average nhl pp, and he'd get 20+ points with nothing but pp time. I'm not a Lemieux fan, but you guys are ridiculous. His vision and hands are both too 5 all time, he was big, and he wasn't a bad skater.

The only reason Lemieux isn't really in the conversation for greatest player of all time is that he had the misfortune of his career overlapping with the actual GOAT so heavily that it was obvious which of the two was better. At any other time in league history, Lemieux is the best player in the league, and the only question is by how much.

Lemieux became the best player by 95-96 and that lasted until 2002, even with the 4 seasons he missed.

A good way to illustrate how great he was....Lindros' best and most productive season as a Flyer was 95-96 when he had 115 points in 73 games. He was a f***ing monster. Lemieux had 45 more points in 3 less games.

This is filled with a ridiculous amount of coordination.

Edit - I've watched this 7 times and keep noticing something new.

Makes the move then jumps, looses his top hand off his stick during the jump, lands and regathers his top hand in perfect position and immediately kicks the puck to his forehand, his back leg is taken out by Boqvist's stick immediately during landing, on one knee he uses his outside edge on his right skate to get away from the goalie, gets his hands off his body and elevates the puck....Oh yeah, he does it all in less than 2 seconds.

All of this happens in less than 2 seconds. The amount of raw athleticism on this play is insane - the speed, the size, the hands, the coordination....That is truly an unbelievable play, and to me might be goal of the year.
