He’s still playing at a ridiculous level for a 36 year old.

In terms of the HoF he’s at 38 points in 39 games on the year. A few more seasons of PPG or near PPG averages could get him in. He’s not gonna get major individual awards at this point & major team awards probably aren’t in the question either as long as he’s in Ottawa. So he’s gonna have score his way in I think at this point which he’s doing so far.

Speaking of Giroux… prospect guys should start watching

Worst handler of young talent in the league.

How dare you sir? That title is claimed.

Tortorella seems more development-friendly towards defenders (in actions). Forwards is much more arbitrary. But besides his whipping boy, it's not all negative. Not out here doing a dance either. But Columbus is in wasting/ruining development territory. I really can't think of any positives in the last several years there, and they're toying with top 5 picks.

How do we get Jiricek? I've been hearing shrewd moves are as good as drafting high. A savvy GM would have some ideas, no?

Jokes aside, what do you think that would take?

He’s probably not being moved. He’s under contract; it’s not like there’s much Jiricek can do. I don’t know what it would take — they hold him in high regard. I imagine Gauthier refused to sign with Columbus.

Well Cutter didn't want to be a f***ing Flyer, so his grapes are probably sour anyway. It is known.

Yea, I was half joking about Jiricek. After watching "As the Flyers Turn" the last few years, I wonder how many teams have their ears to the ground on that stuff. I want a GM like Varys. Leverage every deal

I haven't watched the all-star skills competition or game in years because of my old work schedule, is it usual for there to only be 12 players in the skills competition (and most of them from a few teams)?

They answer is no, but this year they are changing the entire format of the skills competition and they are doing a cumulative score throughout all the events to determine a winner. I only saw a commercial for it, so I don't know what it all entails, but it's completely new this year. Had no idea it was only 12 guys until I saw your post
